Trying to help my brothe in law

So you know when my family was going through all this we didn't tell our in laws because its not the type of thing my husband likes everyone to know. But i wish i would have because my brother in law has paid a company Brit processors alot of money to do a mod he also recieved a foreclosure letter that says he will be foreclosed on in thirty days. I am trying to tell him not to rely on that foreclosure company but he seems to think they will pull through for him. I am nervous for him because i have seen alot of horror stories about these companies. What happens after the thirty days.? And has anyone heard of Brit Processors he has an FHA mortgage with Bank of America
Thanks Guys

Re: Trying to help my brothe in law

you need to print out the pamphlets on modifications from HUD the explain how you don't have to pay.

Maybe you can print a list of HUD approved counselors. You can explain that you have heard horro stories about that kind of company. And although from reading in here you know they are a rip-off, if he is insistant on a counselor he should at least use the ones HUD recommends

Re: Trying to help my brothe in law

I've never heard of Brit Processors. I would at the very least direct him to the FHA-HAMP guidelines and this forum. FHA can be very hard from all that I have seen reported here. And of course, mention that NACA can postpone the foreclosure. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see someone get help from one of these mod companies, but he should really know the truth of what may happen and maybe this forum can open his eyes. Have you shared your experiences with him? Good luck! You know the saying... you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Just do everything you can to educate him. You are just trying to help and hopefully he will realize that.
