I looked online for the status and it shows that they recieved his paperwork on 10/29 and on 11/2 they declined it for a review. I contacted them, and they advised me that his loan to value is at 87% and it should minimum be at 90%. I asked who determined the value and of course rep was not able to answer. I would like to write to the OOP. Can someone please tell me what i should include in the body of the e-mail message? Should I chronologically list all the BS we went throught or just a hardship letter? |

Be sure to include the loan number and contact info so they can call you. LTV should have no bearing on whether the payment is affordable and there is a hardship contributing to the unaffordability, LTV may impact whether or not they would lose less money by foreclosing vs modifying though. |

Like ama, I would include chronology of events. And request that a negotiator be assigned to you. From experience, it appears the negotiator (glorified name for employee) is key in this process. Ama is also correct that the loan to value ratio has no bearing on whether or not you are qualified for HAMP. Perhaps you can state that in your email to Barbara Desoer. Send that email to Barbara a few times a day. Be persistent until you have a negotiator and then sit back, hang on. It's a wild ride but it will be worth it when we all get our loans modified. The banks are very reluctant to offer modifications. They are in a better position if the property forecloses. Took me a while to realize this. However, there are some modifications happening as we have read here so it is possible. |
