BOFA merger with Countrywide

Went to a face to face with BOFA rep yesterday at a MHA thru Homeownership center of cincinnati, was told I qualified for the program and would not hear anything until after 11/16 when BOFA and Countrywide do their merger, I guess she means put all the info in computers? I am a TBW transfer, go figure. I guess I thought the 2 had already merged.

Re: BOFA merger with Countrywide

I'm a B of A mortgage holder and just found out that my loan has now been transfered, sold, assigned to BAC Loans which is the new name for COUNTRYWIDE!!!!

I do NOT want to be associated or do business with countrywide whatsoever!!

I am NOT late, behind, delinquent etc on my loan.

Yes, the merger will be complete on 11/16 complete with new acct. number and phone number.

I am terrified of going thru all this.
Is there anything I can do??
I don't have money for a downpayment for a new loan and refinance is not an option as i've only had my loan for a year.

Merry

Re: BOFA merger with Countrywide

I'm a little confused. I got my loan through Countrywide 3 years ago. I thought Countrywide and Bank of America merged earlier this year? Is this new?

Re: BOFA merger with Countrywide

I was with Greenpoint which sold it to Countrywide in January who I thought sold it to BOA in July or so.. My statements have been from BOA for the last few months. Even though they are completely wrong. So what is going on?

I'm so so sick of this shit. Probably why you don't hear from them for weeks at a time.

BAC took over CW in June 08....Settled with Attorney Gen on bad loans in Oct 08....Changed name of CW in March 09........So I have no idea what they are talking about....I do know BAC is changing their computer programs to CW's. Apparently CW was a better computer program........but CW no longer exists.

Re: BOFA merger with Countrywide

so my understanding that sale, transfer, assigns or mortgages happen all the time. My issue is that it is now with BAC Hom Loans, a subsidiary of Bof A, formerly known as CountryWide.
The merger will be complete by midnite tonite;supposedly.
I went thru something similar with AT&T cellular when they moved the accounts to a new billing company and "LOST" my account in the move. Nothing THEY could do. So i had to get a new phone with a new service.
Now what the f happens when my account gets lost in this move?? And what about my end of year statements?? Will they be wrong?? Will they be accessible?? i've got over 6000 dollars in mortgage intrest to claim at tax time.

Re: BOFA merger with Countrywide

My loan was with Countrywide - then after what I thought was the 'merger'? - started getting info from Bank of America. Now, the notice of intent to foreclosure filed at the county is from BAC. I noticed on the Sheriff's listing of sales scheduled in our County (which go out to April 2010!) - there are listings for Countrywide, Bank of America, and BAC. Who/what is BAC??? BTW - there was even one property listing for Countrywide V Bank of America! They're foreclosing on themselves????
