It seems like there are more approvals....

Is it me or does it seem like BofA is actually moving now and getting more people approved?

Please humor me and tell me it does seem that way...

I can't stand the waiting and the whole process seems to be taking forever, especially with the nitwits at customer service not knowing anything!

Thanks,
Rose

It does seem that way! I am hoping more pressure is being put on them...I got an approved message as well and once I got it..it seemed like quite a few others got it as well. Here's to hoping!!

Rumor has it they're trying to push a ton of Mods through by November, looks like it's starting to happen.

Re: It seems like there are more approvals....

There sure have been a lot of approvals posted recently so I hope to be joining the ranks soon! I got a verbal "pre-approval" for the HAMP trial so I am just waiting to start that long process. I sure hope by the time I make a couple trial payments, they will have figured out how to do this in the stipulated time frame of three months, not four or five or six. I am soooo sick of this. I'm happy to at least get a pre-approval, but I was actually thinking they were offering me an in-house mod with no trial period, so much for that! FedEx, FedEx... where for art thou FedEx?

Good luck to you BofA'ers. May a FedEx truck be in your not-too-distant future!

I sure would like to think there are more mods being done. Sorry but I am little pessimistic.... and a little suspicious. A bankster wouldn't post erroneous information here, would they?

Hey Wizard thats funny you mentioned that BOA must try and do hamp mods by 11/15 - 11/30. I applied for one 9/10/09 and calling them gets me nowhere but them wanting to know when I'm sending them some money, but when I go to my message board on their website it says do not contact us until 11/16 about your request we are working on it!

Yes it seems like they are automatically sending out trial periods. I have been seeing more and more get approved during their very first call..

Re: It seems like there are more approvals....

Well I was just told I was approved for a MOD it only lowered my payments $150.00. He said that is the best they can do. I have a FHA loan and he said that is what the guidelines will allow. They dropped my interest rate from 6.5 to 5.3 but the payment only went down 150. He said they would put all the past due which is 6 payments back in the loan and I would start fresh. I dont know guys what do you think 150 doesnt really help in my situation, but if i dont take it do i lose the house. I told him 150 puts me in the same situation and he swears that is all they can do. Any advise??

Re: It seems like there are more approvals....

My sister is trying to mod under FHA also. However, the BofA rep she had tried to tell her that the change in her payment (about $200.00) put her at 31%. When she asked how he computed that, he told her that it was just her house payment only. She corrected him and told him it had to include homeowners insurance AND property taxes to get to 31%. He told her that was not the case and insisted she commit to the mod. She told him NO and said she was going to research the issue herself. She was able to locate the information and forwarded that to him. She hasn't heard from him since and it's been about 3 weeks.

Re: It seems like there are more approvals....

I think they are just taking 30% of your gross income and sending out loan modification approvals. That is what we got. The sad part is that we cannot afford it becuase they did not even consider our expenses and past due property taxes.

We have a phone interview with NACA tomorrow. We are hoping that works out. We cosigned on another property that belongs to my MIL. Now NACA might not take our loan mod package. That house is in Foreclosure too and we do not make $$ off of it. I guess we will see. If that does not work out well, there is no plan B other then letting BofA know we cannot afford their offer.

Sounds like it is time to escalate the request to the Office of the President (OOP). That is ridiculous when a borrower knows more than the bank employee. Check the forum out for how to escalate to the OOP.

Re: It seems like there are more approvals....

Thanks!

I gave her all that information and this website info. She's not like me (passive), she is aggressive and heaven help you if you make her mad. She is pissed beyond belief and was thrilled to get the information I gave her. She said she was sending an email to the OOP by the end of today. I suspect she'll having them right where she wants them before the week is up!

Thanks again.

Re: It seems like there are more approvals....

I also finished my 3 month trial and my status changed to "approved" on 10/26/2009. I also mailed my 4th payment that same day which is due for Nov 1st. I was extremely happy and relieved until I read under "Making Home Affordable" forum and someone says that their status changed from approved to processing and online status is not really accurate. I want to confirm with someone here until I call Bank of America and will be on hold with them for 2 hours to talk w/ someone who does not get what I am saying at all. Please post if you received a package or a negotiator call or if you know for sure this "approved" status is real or not. Thanks!

Also, I assumed that "approved" means approved for a permanent mod as they mentioned about "terms and conditions" and stuff. Though I know this is just generic wording. Please see below:

Workout Status Details: >>
Your Loan Modification has been approved, and all collections activities have been suspended as a result of this approval. Next steps will include a call from a workout negotiator who will explain the terms and options of your approved workout including all conditions required for the final completion of the workout, such as upfront funds. You will also receive a package of documents in the mail. These documents are time sensitive and must be signed, notarized and returned to us in 10 days, including any required upfront funds. If you have not received your workout package and/or a phone call from your negotiator by 12/25/2009, please contact us. Please do not call back before 12/25/2009 as that may delay the process. Please respond promptly to any calls or requests that you may receive from us during this time period. Lack of response will cause your workout to be delayed or cancelled. Thank you. >>
