Update on us...

Well, I guess we've fallen into BOFA hell.

Everything was looking up, considering we received an approval for MHA mod and was told we'd be receiving the "package" by Sept. 16th. I was estatic, but still a little hesitant to believe what I was hearing.

And rightfully so.

Apparently my genius negotiator filled out the MHA mod paperwork incorrectly when she submitted to the investor (Freddie Mac). Investor returned the paperwork. We were assigned a new negotiator, Regina Finney, on the 23rd. I spoke with her this morning, and she told me she resubmitted the paperwork (correcting the errors) this morning, and we should have a package within 30 days.

Regina seems nice, but she's pretty hard to get a hold of. The only time I was able to leave a voice message was when the Home Retention team office was closed. I will say that having OOP email her was a quick way of getting her to call me. I sent a follow up email this morning explaining what I understood of the voicemail she left. We'll see if she responds.

At this point, I'm worried. Our 90-day credit reporting hold date is fast approaching and we haven't made a payment since July (so, 2 months late). Collections called on Friday and tried to tell me that Collections Activity wasn't going to cease while I was waiting for my modification. I was sure to correct that based of the generic information they post on their own friggin website. Our OOP monitor isn't going to be on our case anymore as of Oct. 1, so I'm debating on another e-mail to Ms. DeSoer to stir the pot some more. I just don't feel comfortable with NOT having someone monitoring the modification, besides me, especially if they're pretty much the only way I can get the new negotiator to call me!

Oh, the cherry on top? We looked up our property taxes for this year. I submitted a Prop. 8 Decline in Value reassessment on top of the county automatically lowering our value from $330K to $235K. Well, it's not showing the amount I submitted ($175K), but even so, the lower value only lowers the bill $200. Our "community facilities district" aka Mello-Roos taxes went up 10%!!! One line is over $1600! We looked up the reason..."due to expected defaults, CFD's were increased 10% and will continue to increase". Our taxes are getting jacked because of the foreclosures in our area. The reason we have the high amount of foreclosures is because of sh!tty loans that the banks gave out that people couldn't afford! UGH!!!

Hope everyone elses day is better!

Sorry to hear this Moomybook. Did they happen to at least give you the extension or email address for your negotiator Regina?

Yes, I have the call in # and extension, and I guessed on her email address and got it correct. I sent an email from work this morning and received a read receipt shortly after.

Oh, and DH reminded me that it's $1600 for one of two payments on the special tax line. ONE line = $3200+/year. Love my house...hate the location

So are you saying your annual property taxes are $3200? Just add a 1 in front of the 3... that's about what I pay! I know, it's all relative to income, etc, but I live in PA and the property taxes are high where I am.

Re: Update on us...

I am so thankful that my property taxes are $800-$1,000 a year max! I am from NJ and have always wanted to move back (live in Delaware now)...but between car insurance rates and property taxes of $10,000+ there is no way!

Mommy, I hope you get your paper work soon. I am crossing my fingers for you!!!

No no (I wish), just one line of it is $3200. I can't remember exact numbers, but it's over $7K/year.

Do you have a lot of property? Maybe I should count my blessings with my property taxes, I just think they're way too expensive. Our property is a little over 6K sq ft and the structure is 2600ish (I think). My dad has lower property taxes than we do and he lives in the infamous Orange County (and yes, I know it's based off the purchase price).
