Are you Depressed,Confused, Tired Well straighten up and fly right

Ok Now that we got the wind freinds and influence people part out of the way. Let an old man have his say.
I been here only a little bit and have had a chance to look around ,in the corners, behind the doors and such. And I'm glad I found this place. So in the spirit of helping:
If your like me you worked and saved to buy your house and now the same pond scum that got us into this mess may take your house back. So you spend all your time worry ing and wondering and general depresssion.
Well there could be a positive to this to help get you out of it.

First of all no matter what happens your life is in reset. That means you have a chance to start over again. Either way.

So think about yourself (or you and your wife, or wife and family) and get out two sheets of paper.

On one write down what things you are going to do, want to do or change if you keep your house FOR THE FAMILY

On the other write down the things you are going to do, want to do or change if you lose your house. FOR THE FAMILY

When your done, compare the lists. Are their anything on the two that match or can you think of anything that would match.

If you can pick out those things which cost the least to do but will move you forward either way. If your finances can handle it spend some money to do them. If you keep the list and add to it you can keep moving forward while your waiting for those putz's to get something right. That way you don't feel like your whole life is on a complete hold and no matter what happens you won't be wasting your time.
It is also good to get the attitude that even no matter how much you want to keep your place that it is only a house. And you are greater than a house. Figure out how to GO GALT. Get away from credit cards, debit cards. Forget your FICO score. Buy only what you need. Live for you (and your family) The better shape you are in the better chance you can help somebody else.

For me I I have a hobby that I decided to make some stuff for myself and no matter what happens its mine. I also am taking the time to reorganize priorities and do some things like reading and small scale planning like I've been wanting. And there is always those little nickel and dime things that you have been meaning to fix cause you want to keep them. So take some time and do it. Move your self forward no matter what.

SOme of you can add to what I'm saying and some may not understand. Let he who has ears to hear go for it. The rest ask questions.

Lets keep a positive attitude and that will help beat these guys.

Slim,

I can see your point, but it's hard. Our family has been on the yes you are approved no your not approved rollercoster for over 19 months. I spend over 15 hours a week on my case and 15 or more helping a local NACA attorney with cases as a volunteer. It has helped to see that no matter what stinkin bank your workin with they are all doing, reading and working off the same "SCRIPT". Our family wants to give up to have a normal life without the worries and on the otherhand we don't want those ***** to win. But working a list does help and we have done that very thing....but it's still hard.

Yes its hard. But all good things are hard , dang!! Cept Ice cream and coke. BUt your moving forward and your bigger than a house. Take some time and use your list to figure out what the family can do together for a few hours or a day and let the house go. You aren't gonna speed them guys up or make them any smarter. And now with what Moe is coming up with it will be easier hopefully. Let the family come first.!

Re: Are you Depressed,Confused, Tired Well straighten up and fly right

boy this can stress you out and it is VERY important that we all take time for us. I was thinking today about what I will do with this time when this journey is done. It really does devour you. Sometimes I post to the "just friends" thread for a stream of consciousness kind of whine and that helps for some reason..... Family first yes!!!!!

I agree do somthing for yourself. I kept thinking when this is done I will change my bedroom, get new pillows and decorate. It is small but I decided to do it now. I can take everything with me so it is not a loss, but what it did is made me feel SO much better. Living for the good of now is so important. I REALLY HOPE to keep my house but that is all it is. Your HOME is where you and your family are so that moves where ever you go.

sick and tired - I know what you mean. I was slowly but surely fixing up this house, and had just (after an incredible number of tries) found the paint I wanted for the back bedroom and painted it. Now all plans are on hold. I am not painting one more square inch of this place until I get the mod I want and deserve. then I"m gonna have a party with my closest friends, and have some fun again claiming every inch of this small but just right for me house. If it turns out differently, and I move, that's okay - but it's a fun thought.

Boy can I relate to you. My house is resided on three sides, And the kitchen is basically tore up. I have all the lumber and siding stored to finish siding, new windows, kitchen and remodel four other rooms. It hurts to possibly lose all that time invested. Its hard to let it go. Believe me it took me months to figure out what I needed to do and what I have said.

Re: Are you Depressed,Confused, Tired Well straighten up and fly right

When it is all said and done all we really have is ourselves and if lucky our family, having lost a son just a year ago, going through this is a cake walk. I will fight till I can't anymore, and I will walk away knowing I did what I could with my integrity intact, I know the banks can not say the same. I hope all of us get what we deserve, including the banks and the liars that work for them.
peace to all of you.

jdubu2,

Amen to your statement, I too lost a son (he was 22) three years ago. This is a walk in the park. A home is where your heart is....so be it if I lose my home I lose it...I will cherish the things that I do have. Cherish family and health-those are things that can't be replaced.

I give you a lot of credit for I'm sure was a very difficult decision, and I wish you peace and hapiness going forward. I too am depressed fighting this battle for 27 months, but I have decided to fight them to the end no matter the outcome. We have put a lot of sweat and money into our home over the past 15 years.
Good luck!

Hello Slim and everyone else. I really appreciate this thread and all of your comments. We spend day after day discussing the technical aspects of loan modification, and skip past the emotional part, mostly because we're on a mission to avoid foreclosure and there's no time for anything else. Out of necessity, I've stopped paying the mortgage as of 10/1, so now there will be enough money left from my paycheck to afford an occasional dinner at a restaurant, and you better believe I'm going to do it. I've lived in this bank-imposed he!! long enough, and I'm going to try to enjoy life again, no matter what happens to the house.
