Here's a letter I wrote to Attorney General CA Brown. (Who brought the suit against CW here in CA) Dear Attorney General Brown, Sept 25, 2009 My story would in no way fit in this box, I will try to briefly explain. I would really love to be directed to ANY HUMAN BEING that would be interested in fighting Countrywide / Bank of America on our behalf. We purchased our home through Countrywide in 2006, subprime, but with the idea we would refi in 2 yrs. We paid ON TIME every month for our loan for two yrs. We got the first letter our rate would adjust in 08 in Nov. We Immediately contacted Countrywide saying we needed help and to please work with us. Now, 10 months later, two times with two different counseling agencies we did hire an atty. We just got an offer on the second loan, slightly lower interest, however, $300 more a month than before we got in trouble. They tell us the first is still in review. Now, we said it would be silly to accept terms of second, without knowing the mod on first is manageableor if it will even be offered. They say we have until Monday9/28/09 to accept and if not we CAN'T reapply for mod on 2nd. As I write it is Fri 9/25/09 We were waiting on advice from atty on how to proceed. They want our pay stubs etc (for 5th time since Dec of 08) to keep reviewing the first mortgage. Well, I gave up, told my attorney to start the short sale. I am too tired, too beaten, too everything to keep fighting. I am going to lose my home... yay me... I will be okay, I have a place to go, though it won't be MY HOME. Please, do not give up, others like me still may have hope. Tell Jerry, I support him, and Have since the 70's I ran the student campaign in Humboldt county in the 92 primaries. I can be reached for further info at XXXXX Thank you sincerely, Kelly Garner |

Our Atty firm is useless, we paid 3k basically for them to submit paperwork, which initially took them 3 months of shuffling us from one paralegal to another before it was submitted... They've gotten worse results than we orig got on our own (two equally crappy mod offers) They won't press for a better offer they never return a call, or email. The mod on second had a due date and we called for advise and they never got back to us until the fri before the mon the thing had to be in... They had previously advised we take it, but with no info on the first I was hesitant (mod 2nd changed the interest from 11% to 9.2% and the payment would have been $300 more than when we got in trouble) and the baloon was still attached. We called of the short sale for now, nothing about it felt right to either my hubby or I. We'd almost opt for foreclosure instead of the sale at this point. I am reading the link in first reply to me, I'll be back! TG | |
