We did not make payment this month (August). Could this have been the reason? And why does it say 'canceled'? I thought I read something on the forum regarding this before...any help is appreciated!

I'd be on the phone calling BofA to find out what this means and why this is stated. You would not be the first. I believe it was Garry (who is currently in the MHA trial) whose workout status was changed to canceled or declined. The computer is not always right (and neither are the people on the phone, but maybe someone can tell you what is going on). Please post what you find out.

I would call them ASAP and ask! Don't panic too much, because their site never seems to have the correct info on it. For instance, mine now says "no workout for this account" even though I am in the trial period for MHA. I would stay on top of it though!

Update:

Called in & spoke with someone I could barely understand. I then contacted Suzane and she told me that it appears our loan (along with many other loans) were canceled in error this week. Nice, huh? So....my negotiator Neil is calling me shortly to verify ours was canceled in error. They were emailing back & forth and he said he 'felt strongly' ours was one that had been canceled. So, we will verify shortly. I will let you all know what happens. What a relief! Hopefully this moves us up a bit and we can be done with this charade!

Also, when she first pulled up our account it did say the mod was canceled/borrower did not qualify. But, it also stated as the reason why...'Excessive Use of Credit' and Suzane stated she had never seen this before.

That should only apply if you are trying to refinance, not if you're trying to obtain a modification.

Could they be any more disorganized?

I'd love to know what all of their "reason codes" are for not qualifying! And how would they determine "excessive use of credit"...the frequency of using credit or just being over-extended on credit? What a load of crap! I bet there's a reason code for "borrower has extensive credit that can still be tapped into".

Yep....frustrating!! And I second that...what should my credit have to do with a mod?! ... Anyway, she did confirm that I was one of that...20% of all their loans that were canceled in error! My account still says that info as being canceled...wonder if it'll ever change.

I also went on cw/bofa website today after i have already signed my doc's and sent them back and my account said CANCELLED and when i called they said that it was cancelled due to I was 1,000.00 short to qualify. OK so you didn't know this before you sent my doc's. I am really hoping that this is an error because David Leighton told me not to pay August payment because it was included in the mod and to start my new payment in September. Really confused!! If anyone gets any info please let me know. Very nervous!! Can they really reneg if you already signed your doc's! HELP!

I can tell you what I was told, It's a mistake. They are referring to the hope program in my case, the MHA mod is fine. Have them clarify the program you where denied for before you get to upset.

This is what came up on my CW/BofA website after I had spoken to David Leighton and he assured me that no matter what my new payments were to start today Sept 1 and it might take 60-90 days to reflect on my statements. I received the docs, notarized them and sent them back. I called CW/BOFA and of course they were rude. My loan was approved by CW/BofA in July and David said he wasn't sure why I had not received my docs. He told me that August payment was factored into the mod and not to send it in to start my new payment on Sept 1. Called him but no return call. Frustrated!!! Can they go back on their word? Dont know what to do.

I just don't understand why this process can't be any easier than pulling teeth...now my account will say declined/canceled and I will really have no clue what is going on!! I am glad that it is incorrect and that I was one of them canceled in 'error'. DH & I were talking and we wonder how many people read that and just assumed they were declined and didn't bother to call back in. Hmmm....

mine its says samething, but now I got foreberance agreement., which I won't accept it., it will take me 5 months behing when I am only 2., and if I ask my negotiator said ".. as per guidelines I have to be 3 or more months behinds that is why I received foreberance....... Could it be true the Banks is asking me to get more behind in payments to be able to get help???

I think what they are trying to politely tell you is they are still taking people on a priority basis. If you are desperate, this might be one way to speed up the process.

Yup....I logged into online account & still states that 'Borrower Canceled/Did Not Qualify'. Guess now I have to just keep waiting for a package. Tomorrow will be 6 weeks.

Mine too!!!! I think my account would not have done that...but, since at one point my mod was canceled 'all collection activities resumed'.
