Ama125 - thanks again for your response - all of your posts have been SO helpful!!!! Our negotiator is Veronica Quiroz. I faxed her updated paystubs and a hardship form yet AGAIN today. She informed me that she didn't see many options but that she would "take a look" at our paperwork once everything was in. I wonder how long it will take her to get back to me...if she is not helpful, I will try to email Barbara and complain. Fannie owns our loan...I don't know if that's good or bad! I am new to this forum (my mother told me about it - she got all her great information for her successful mod here), and I am learning so much...I just feel like I still don't know the "system" and that I am going to get the runaround and a negative response from B of A. They just don't care about their customers! And I don't know enough yet to fight back properly! This forum is a blessing because of all the valuable info, it really is.

Now that my daughter is 7 months and doing great on solids, we are trying a different formula...that hypoallergenic stuff was so darn expensive! But she is worth it.

Kitty, I know your pain I was looking through post and saw you were with ESOP I was with them also and I feel I did more in two weeks with this forum than they did since last march. Keep fighting and good health to your baby. It will all work out

Sorry, Barbara. I do not have an answer for you. Our loan is conventional. I just learn and did what this web site suggested.I faxed today all the requested documents and Mr. Sergio agreed to have any answer for me on Tuesday since Monday is Columbus day. The bank will be closed. I will posted whenever I have the result. Hope the information will be helpful.

Re: Escalating your Making Home Affordable Program request to the Office of the President

Will taking this route work if I originally applied for loan mod thru an attorney? It's been 5 months and I am still waiting for a negotiator to be assigned. I received Notice of Default last week and running out of time.
The attorney I hired is not responsive and keeps telling me to be patient and wait. I'm confused and stressed out, not sure who to listen to..
Has anyone had a similar experience? Should take over and contact OOP myself and forget the attorney? Any advise if very much appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. 5 months is way too long too wait to have a negotiator assigned. I was not working with an attorney, but with a HUD housing counselor and after not getting anywhere, was advised to contact OOP and see where it would take me. I don't see how it could hurt in trying. Good luck to you!

krym - how much have you paid the attorney? What has he done for you? Does he send you an itemized statement? Did you pay him a retainer?

Re: Escalating your Making Home Affordable Program request to the Office of the President

I paid $2995 - way too much for the lousy service I'm getting.. on top of that they're now acting as if they're ready to skip town. Phone msg says to email not call cause they're very busy. The website says - no more new clients. Looks like I have to take over the process now and deal with BoA directly... not to mention the money I wasted.. this is all too stressful

Re: Escalating your Making Home Affordable Program request to the Office of the President

Hi there,
I'm new to the forum. We've been going through this process for over a year now and I've kept a record of all the calls, conversations, fax confirmations, etc. In short we've gone through 3 negotiators only to find out our application for mod had been terminated for reason such as they claimed they never received our fax, didn't receive them on time, etc etc. You know the drill.

I was able to get the direct phone number of our current negotiators supervisor (last name McCoy). Our negotiator is Sherington at 866-788-8495 ext. 7995. I was FINALLY able to speak to her yesterday. Of course I have to refax everything b/c what shows in her system is a mish/mosh of faxes we've sent over the past few months. We've sent our total package 3 times previously. Whomever is "scanning the faxes into the system" seems quite unorganized.

Ok, here's a few questions,

1) Our loan technically originated with First Equity (through our builder) who immediately sold our loan to Countrywide. Does that mean our loan officially originated with Countrywide? Do we fit in to this category?

2) Should I email Office of the President since we already have a negotiator assigned?

3) I'm not sure I've been dealing with the same set of people you guys have all been talking about in this forum. The number I call on a regular basis is 866-788-8495. This is the number for the Home Retention Department at Bank Of America.

Thanks,
Erin

Welcome to the forum. I also took out my loans through a builder who then turned around and sold them to CW. We then refied the second, keeping it with CW. If you look up your loan documents online (Note and HUD-1), it will likely list First Equity as that would be the originator of your loan. Since you already have a negotiator assigned, I don't see emailing the OOP to be of much assistance unless you run into further problems. There are a number of third party debt collectors/home retention services, so it would seem you are dealing with one outside of OOP. Please do update how things progress for you. Good luck!

Re: Escalating your Making Home Affordable Program request to the Office of the President

krym55, I'm in the same situation. Still waiting to be assigned to a negotiator and its been almost 3 months. I also hired a loan modification company in August, paid $1999 and their progress has been minimal. Yesterday I received a notice of intent to accelerate from BAC. Thinking about escalating this to office of the president myself.

babsy -- I would suggest that you do escalate today. What did that modification company do for the $1999? Have you checked with you state attorney general office to see if they have any complaints? Google the company using quotes. "Company"

I e-mailed Barbara last week, and have not received a reply from anyone there. I have started my mod over with the help of a HUD counselor. My husband has a regular income, but we have a loss of income and need a lower payment. We went through the process with Save the Dream and we were denied. They said our payment was affordable, but they did not count all our debt!! We have 20 left at the end of the month for food and gas!! All I want them to do is possibly extend the life of the loan to 40 years, which would lover our payment about 350 a month.

Jackie -- if I were you I would call three times a day. I did. Had a post it on my desk with the telephone number and my loan number. I called at 9am, noon, and 4 pm. I was very persistent and finally got a call back. In your case, I would call 5+ times a day. They would be so sick of my calls, they would call me just to get rid of me. Just my opinion though. Sorry you are going through this. Please take the time to read the experiences here. Welcome. I hope we can help you.

NativeLasvegan,
I was just told today that my negotiator was Paula Edwards and my file has not been updated for over a month. Does anyone have any experience with negotiator Paula Edwards. I asked for her phone number and email but was told that was not given out. I don't know if I should send an email to the OOP yet or wait a couple of days.
