He told me that he was not the "enemy" He just wanted to verify that I lived there and the house was occupied by me. He asked me to make a call to BoA while he was here because he just had to write down the name of the person who takes my call and then left me to continue my conversation with BoA. I spoke with a man who told me that I got a very good mod. (same as was offered in the original MHA package) and that I would receive a Fed Ex after my 3rd trial payment was received. My 3rd payment is due in about 2 weeks. My question is that I now have a dispute going with one of my credit card banks, not BoA. They claim that they did not receive my payment and I have proof that they did take it out of my account but they won't budge and are being uncooperative. Will this affect my mod from going through? Thanks. |

They are just verifing that you live there and it is not an investment home or is vacant. Many people are trying to scam the banks on investment homes. The bank hires people to run around and verify. Yes, the number was the BoA number that is hasndling my mod. Nothing to worry about and in fact it is an indicator that your mod is near or disapproved. Just talked to the man who is handling my mod for me. He explained it to me and my mod is near. |

Who is the person who is handling your modification? Did they note your account saying that someone came by the house? I ask these questions because last week someone was trying to get into our backyard. They were even trying to ask my neighbor for information about us, but she pretty much waived them off. I called my OOP mod monitor and she said that BOFA doesn't go to houses for any type of inspection for mods, and only maybe on a short sale. |

All I have to say is thank God for my dogs. They may be pansies, but one of them looks like he could do some damage and the other just... well...she's a spaniel. Too bad DH wasn't home when all this happened. The person woulda been sitting on the curb, cuffed, waiting for the sheriff's department, LOL!

They do not sneak around or talk to neighbors. That is what collection agencies do. BoA comes right to your door to verify that you live there so they know the mod will be legit. My agent verified that this is a common practice. Yes they know the man was here. He had me call while he was here. He needed to know, for his record, who I was speaking with at BoA. Then told me bye and to continue my conversation with the man at BoA. Nothing mysterious. Progress. I explained earlier why they send someone out. I will not reveal the names of either man from BoA, they are on my mod. My agent will be revealed when it is final if it is permissable to do so. |

Taylor, did he go inside the house? Did he want to look around? I personally don't let any stranger in my house without prior arrangement!

He did not want to come in and look around nor did he look around at the outside. My experienced agent told me that it is not uncommon for a bank to do because the banks have been scammed by people who try to get mods on investment and vacant properties. He was here to verify that I lived here. This according to my agent that this was a good indicator telling him that they are serious about doing my mod and the phone call he asked me to make was to well known BoA number. Speaking with the man on the phone also gave me that impression, as he even told me what date my 1st payment of my new "excellent deal" mod is due. People can believe what they want and question what his visit was all about and question if I am telling the truth all they want. I tell the truth and I am making progress. I would like to get back to MY question if that is possible. TY. |

But have a question. taylor, i don't think your cedit card situation will have any effect at all on your mod. they don't care about what you owe to the cc companies, only what they can get from you. good luck to you in the last stretch! |

One of my banks I have a credit card with claims that they did not get my payment. I have the proof that they took it out of my account. I don't owe them much but I refuse to pay twice and do their work to correct their error. They were sent proof but still claim they did not get the payment my bank sent them. I and my bank have all the proof. |

But have a question. what bank is this? sounds like you need to go to a higher power, maybe CEO of that bank, BBB, or SEC...? do not pay them twice, as you know, that's what they're expecting. can you fax all the documents to them? |

My bank from which they recieved their payment has sent them all of the proof that the CC bank did recieve the payment, on time, through an elec transfer as usual. They still say they did not recieve it. My bank assures me that the other bank did recieve it and has proof. My bank, a small one, can't believe how a large bank can be so confused or incompetent. I would like to withold the name of the CC bank for now , but they are a biggie, not BoA. |

Thats not what has happened to other people, the guy is showing up before there is any deal at all. Forget my last post, I can't delete it. |
