Thanks everyone! |

The rep said they should be waiving the pay by phone fee since it is a trial period payment. Sucks because I really wanted to pay mine at the branch so I could have that receipt in hand, but now I am scared to. |

They will give you a confirmation number when you pay by phone. So you do have proof of payment. I usually follow up to make sure the payment is in their system.

Today he tells me it`s my first payment and he can`t process it over the phone, because it has to be certified or western Union-ed. i told him it`s our second payment, he puts me on hold, and then he says that he sees that our first payment posted on July 27th. I didn`t even have the package from MHA yet on july 27th!!!! So all in all, their fee is 12.00 to take payment over the phone, so i told him no, i`d rather pay for western union and have reciept in hand that proves 100 % i paid! I guess 12.00 is today pay-over-phone going rate... |

But some people here say that it takes days for them to process in-branch payment, which i don`t understand at all. I wouldn`t like to be late on my trial payment... |

I made my first payment on 7/22 so it did take time to post. I made my second payment on 8/20 so it posted right a way it looks like. I still have a reciept for the first payment if they gave me any grief, but they haven't.

This is so strange!! Can't they make up their mind?! The over the phone fee used to be $12.00, then they changed it to $20.00, so did they change it back to $12.00?!! What a mess!

According to what I read you can make the payment the way you always have. For me, that would be a personal check paid directly at my local bank. That's what I did, everything is fine. That BofA website is a joke also, I was told not to use it and to rely on calling for updates. |

The documents indicate to pay the way you would normally pay. I wanted to verify that so I called the Hope Team and they confirmed that...twice. I then called the Home Retention Dept to see what they would say and they suggested sending certified funds only so that you have absolute proof of the payment made. They discouraged online banking for whatever reason, but said again it was always to safeguard us against a lost or misapplied payment. They finally offered me to pay over the phone with no fee because we were in trial mod. I would call that department again and if you're not satisfied, do what makes you feel comfortable. |

But the second time I went back this month to do it at 2 different branches they both required a coupon. Now i just use the bill pay online ( i have BOA checking). And it went in a less than 3 business days. I wonder if it will work when I start making my mod payments? Anytime you call in to make a payment they usually will NOT WAIVE the 20$ fee, no matter how much you complain. |

When i called BofA with confirmation number, they already had pending payment from western union, so that way i know it`s gonna post same day. We do live paycheck to paycheck, so i can`t afford to pay my morgage 2 weeks earlier, in order for my payment to be there on time. They weren`t willing, however to lift a fee for pay by phone. I hope once they do loan mod, we will be able to pay our bill online like before, with no fees. |

She said that there is a fee of 12.00, i asked if they can forget about it, and she said no. I am not very skilled when it comes to begging, so maybe if i was more persistant, she`d say yes. I just figured that i might go and pay 12.99 at Western union and have proof on hand. next month i`ll have my husband call and ask about free pay by phone. He`s better at things like that. Maybe it will work. Oh, by the way, when i called them yesterday to give my confirmation number, i told her that i`ve heard that there shouldn`t be a fee for pay-by-phone while in trial period, she said it wasn`t true. So i guess, it depends on the customer srvice rep, really. |

I just told them that I was calling to make a payment, and that the HOPE team had told me that they would waive the pay by phone fee since I was locked out of my online account. Like I said, they didn't even argue with me about it at all, they just said ok and took the payment. |
