Officially locked out from making payments

DH checked the website today. We're current, and don't have enough to make our August payment before the 16th, so I'm thinking this is a blessing in disguise. I'm just worried that it might screw us over because won't it end up reporting delinquint on our credit reports if we don't pay before the end of the month? I know there are "back door" ways to pay, but my thought is that I really don't have all the money for next months payment, is it really worth jumping through all these hoops, borrowing money from family, when they're not even giving me "easy" access to pay my mortgage? Well, I see both sides of that argument, but I prefer the no answer.

I can back door a payment for September and say "oh, I just discovered this". Ignorance is bliss, right?

*sigh*

Don't you usually have til to pay? I know we do.....and my account has said the same for the past so many days. I don't think they report it to your credit til your more than 30 days late

MommyBook

I am with you... I got locked out today too. I still want to make my payment I will have JUST about enough to make it. I dont want to give them the satisfaction of being late. I too see both sides of your argument and I SURE could pay off some bills completely if I didn't have to pay! Such a tough decision. Will they put it towards my payment if I send it? or just leave it sitting in limbo ?

Re: Officially locked out from making payments

Dh was trying to tell me that he read that people who sent check to BOFA had them returned???

IDK, I could use the money to fix our car to avoid having to buy a new one OR stashing it in savings in case he gets laid off and we end up in a sticky situation.

A friend of mine interpreted the statement below as saying they weren't going to be reporting anything to the CA's while we were working on the loan mod process.

Re: Officially locked out from making payments

Believe me, your credit report will get hit hard if you are more than 30 days late!!!!!!!!!! 29 days you are ok!!!!!!

Re: Officially locked out from making payments

Once my account was locked out I just phoned my payment in. It does cost a little extra, but I know it is being applied right away. It comes out of my bank account withing 24 hours or so. Also, that way I can pay at the very last minute. I have been paying as close to the 15th as possible, as after that I get a late fee, and since I am two months behind already if I waited until after 15th I would officially 3 months behind. I probably could pay sooner, but it is my little of way of making a statement. I want the mod done! Of course it has been six months so I guess they aren't listenigng LOL
Almost afraid what our credit score is at this point, between late cc payments and the mortgage. UGH! But I have learned to stop stressing over it, we will be able to get back on track eventually. One thing at a time, mod on loan, try to get back on track with cc companies,(some have given us settlement offers, which also hits credit) , husband, hopefully is able to find a job, or get in the job retraining program here to try to start over at 57. Gotta look on the bright side, by the time we are able to retire( minus our retirement money, which is now gone) our credit will hopefully be back on right track.

I focus on counting our blessings, and not how bad things have went for us in just 6 short months. Keeps me focus on what is truly important.
