Spoke w/ Negotiator

I called Neil & left him a message this afternoon. He didn't call me back so I just called back and he answered. He told me we did not qualify for the 'standard modification' (non-"obama"). But, he said it looked like we would qualify for the HAMP (Home Affordable Mod Program). He said it looked like our loan was $300+ more than 31% so we would qualify. So, he edited our account and put in for us to be sent a modification package and that should arrive in the next 6-8 weeks. So, yippie we get to pay 2 more mortgage payments before we know anything. I am mad! The thing that stinks is they included my husband's overtime in the figures. So, that showed about $1,000 more gross. Although he said that helped us?. I don't get it. I was hoping for something much better. But, I do hope when he sends us this package we can save the $300 a month that would be great.

Re: Spoke w/ Negotiator

Has anyone had experience with this? Did it really take 6-8 weeks to get?

Re: Spoke w/ Negotiator

I spoke with a Negotiator today as well. She said we qualify for the HAMP, and I was sure to let her know that a mileage claim that was FINALLY paid to DH last pay period was not the norm, and you could see it on the paystub. I made sure I gave her the normal information for income.

She said that the FedEx package should be sent out "soon". So I asked for the average. She said possibly 3 weeks, but she couldn't tell for sure, and she would follow up by the 3 week mark.

I'll be following up again tomorrow because DH saw that BOFA ran his credit today despite the fact that we haven't received any information regarding an internal mod.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack.

I'd call your negotiator at least once a week to see if your status has updated in their system. The gal I talked to said sometimes homeowners receive their package before their system is updated...guess they get their wires crossed a lot (doesn't surprise me)

I have been waiting since 7-16-09, no docs yet. I've called everybody and nobody knows anything. No terms, tracking number, no location. The negotiator said it might be a trial modification but not sure.

MommyBook:

I am going to PM you my email address. Since it seems like we are both going through the same thing it might be a good idea to keep in contact and update one another on our progress.

My husband works OT and we have been trying to pay down debt..so he's been working more. The neg told us that if he didn't have the ot it would have hurt us? .. not sure what he meant by that...but, if my payment can drop $300 a month we would be ecstatic! I appreciate you telling me what you were told! I am hoping the package comes in more like 3 weeks...as opposed to 8! My neg didn't tell me anything about calling back to check the progress but I think that is a great idea to do weekly until the docs arrive.

Edit: I can't seem to find where to send a private message...my email is wakefield622@live.com

Hi Sahm,

I was also told 6-8 weeks to receive "a package", although I am not 100% sure what the package may be. I am assuming it is for a MHA mod, as that it what I requested... We have the same negotiator (Neil Hernandez)...

Have a good morning!

Skipper

I called my negotiator, the advocacy dept. and David L, who said that my loan docs were sent from an unknown location.
Supposedly they should have be sent out between July 10-14th. David said that nobody saw the docs and no info re terms are in the system. He gave me the number to the hope dept and advised if they cant help then call him back next Thursday when he returns. The hope dept dont want to be bothered unless you have a package and didnt have me on file.
