I e-mailed Barbara Desoer late Monday night and received a call yesterday from Kara Turner stating Ms. Desoer had read my e-mail and had asked her to call me to assist. Unfortunately I missed the call and am kicking myself. I have since left two voice mail messages and have not got a call back. Has anyone talked to Kara Turner. They figured my trial payment for the MHA Plan using wrong income amount and admit that it should come down, but are unwilling to change anything at this point. They say to complete trial period and they will re-evaluate after trial is over. My big fear is that they won't and I will have used my one shot at this program and received barely any relief in payment amount. My last resort was to email Barbara Desoer as my deadline is Aug 2nd. |

Minknmelissa - do you have any updates from Jessica? She's had our info for two weeks, called with one question and said she was submitting to the investor. She had originally said she would need two weeks to review all and she is on time. We had been trying for six months prior to reaching her via the OOP.

She said she had reviewed everything and with the one question we answered, now had a complete package to submit to the investor. She did not tell us what she was proposing. I know our investor is BONY so I am hopeful. She is the negotiator. When I first spoke with her I had to resubmit a document that I messed up on and once she had that, she called two weeks later, but only because she had a question. I suspect it will take one to two more weeks to hear and I'll just wait as she seems to be on top of things. We had been trying for a long time prior to this and we had gone from approved, received documents, didn't like them (even b of a/CW) said the mod didn't make sense, reapplied and got lost in the system. Jessica seems to be organized. I will for sure update you as soon as I hear anything. I know this can go either way, but I'm a bit more hopeful as they need to get the numbers of mods up and we are all trying to do the right thing - just need help.

She asked to fax her some updated income information which I did. Upon receipt she forwarded my file to a negotiator David Kozik. She is calling on behalf of the Office of the Chairman. She said I was in the best place I could be. I was optimistic, but after talking to David (the negotiator) I was a little less optimistic. He was very nice, but still really didn't understand my problem. He said he would resubmit my file the for the Making Homes Affordable plan last week. (the income they used in calculating payment was incorrect) Yesterday he called and said my payment would only be lowered by $84, I explained everything again and after putting me on hold a couple of times, he said I was absolutely correct. He had talked to manager and they said he would have to talk to the Senior Vice President because he had a contact with my investor (Fannie Mae). He told me to give him a couple of days. We'll see what happens. As far as Kara Turner she was very responsive I just wish it could have stayed with her. She agreed with me that my payment should be based on correct income in the first place. Everybody else was telling me that my payment would go down by $500 AFTER I made the three trial payments. I just don't trust any of them. |
