CW/BofA loan modification

My story in short as sent to the office of the president:

June 1, 2009
Dear Ms. Desoer,

Thank you for your time, and I apologize up front if I was directed to the wrong person regarding this situation. We are desperate to keep our home, and are making positive steps to gaining our financial stability. We want to do whatever we can to get back on track and keep our home.

On February 18th 2009 we were approved for a loan modification with Countrywide. My husband and I were greatly relieved that Countrywide was working with us and that we were going to keep our home. We agreed to the terms and I notarized the paperwork, included all required documents and returned it in the supplied FedEx envelope. I called a few days later and was told that the package was received and that all paperwork was there. About 1 week later I called and was assured that all paperwork had been received and that the website would reflect that shortly. On April 27, 2009 I called again, to see the status as the website was still not reflecting the new payment. I was told that the modification from February 18th had been cancelled because the required paperwork had not been received. I assured them that I did return the notarized loan docs as well as all financial requirements. I was told that according to their records, I did not. I was told I would have to re-apply for the modification. Obviously, I was shocked, and confused. The next day, I called to re-apply for the modification, and was told that there was already an approved modification in the process. I was not confident in this persons answer and called back. That next person then confirmed that the modification had indeed been canceled.

On April 28th, 2009 I re-submitted the paperwork as required. I’ve called several times to assure that the paperwork has been received and have been given several different answers. As of now I have been told that it is under review. I am concerned about this modification due to the issue with the first modification. We were so relieved with the original February 18th modification, and were devastated to learn that it was canceled due to a paperwork error that I was never informed of via telephone, email or regular mail. Had I been informed that any portion of my paperwork was lost, I would have done whatever necessary to get it there immediately. Each week I am told that my modification is under review and to call back. I am scared that weeks or months are going to go by and the modification will be denied therefore sending us to foreclosure.

Any assistance that you could provide to me would be greatly appreciated. I have not been able to reach anyone who can assist me in my case and feel that taking further steps were necessary. I appreciate your time and concern to this matter. Thank you.



GUESS WHAT? Today I then called (800)669-6093, got a live person, and now have been assigned to an account manager. Thank you so much for the information provided on this site, otherwise I am sure that I would have been still waiting on hold to be told nothing!!

I am still waiting with bated breath about this, but feel confident we are finally moving in the right direction.

Just wanted to update and state that our mod was approved and we are back where we should be. My negotitor called promtly and our deal is very good. THANK YOU TO everyone here for the advice to contact Barbara Desoer. I am confident that is why the progress on our mod was so swift.
