My countrywide story?????

I found this forum yesterday just looking for any information I could find. I read until late last night and I feel so much pain for all the people in the same boat as myself. I wish there was no need for this forum but thanks to the ones that started it. I have a 1st and 2nd with CW of 147,000 and 20,000. My tax value is 198,000 (which is ridiculous) with a market value of around 175,000. My 1st is at 6.75 and 10% for the 2nd. Payments are 1330.00 and 182.00. My wife became disabled about 2 years ago from chemotherapy because of breast cancer. I work for a manufacturing company that started going to 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off in Jan. My income has been cut in half and looks like it may last till the end of the year. We are 2 payments behind right now and are not sure if I can make one this month so we may go to 3 behind on the 1st. I talked to CW in mid March about some kind of workout plan. They put me on a forbearance plan. Not long after that I was checking the website and saw that I had been denied the plan with no call or email. I then started an online counsel with CCCS in Atlanta and they sent Cw a workout letter and budget. I am listed as referred on the website with them continuing to try to collect to payments. I have called and called talking to someone different and having to start from the beginning every time. The last time I called I had just made a payment (so I was only 1 behind) and the CSR told me that my account was current and I need to talk to refinance dept. Ofcourse I did not qualify for that so they told me I needed to talk to Home retentions dept. I have tryed to call my counselor at CCCS and get her to get a conference call setup, but she said they will tell her the samething. I have not gotten any letters or calls from CW about loan mod and they keep telling me (when someone puts me on hold) that they are about 1 month behind. I have not submitted anything to CW except what the credit counselor submitted. I have thought about going to the NACA program but would not be able to attend a class as they require (wife can't walk and also have special needs daughter).
I am looking for advice as to what the next step should be. I wish I had the answer and could help someone else get to where they want to be. I feel I am among friends just reading these forums and know that I can get good information from that will help me make my decision.
Thank you all so much for being here.......

Re: My countrywide story?????

Hello rkel11,

Welcome to the forum. You are among friends in like situations. I would suggest starting the NACA process as the attending a meeting is not necessary to start it. They look for help in advocating their fight. I haven't attended and the closest to me is 100 miles away and June before it is to be held. I am 2 almost 3 months behind and have been submitted for a month now. If this is your only property then I would do myself a favor and start now. My only regret is I didn't start sooner.

Re: My countrywide story?????

rkel11

you do not have to attend a workshop to use Naca, you can do the online submission, fax them your docs using Naca cover sheet you can printout and then do a phone counseling appointment. Their services are free and they do help, there are many Naca success stories on the forum ours included.
DOCS:
a) Pay Stubs (most recent available 30 days)
b) Monthly Mortgage Statement (most recent available)
c) Property Tax Bill (most recent available)
d) Homeowners Insurance Bill (most recent available)

Re: My countrywide story?????

After you have completed the 10 step process it will give you your ID#. When/if you fax docs to NACA, be sure to print the fax cover sheet as it will have your ID# on it.

Re: My countrywide story?????

Now we wait. Keep your documents handy as the person you talk to Monday will go over those and ask other questions about your monthly expenses. I have been lurking here for awhile now and am constantly reading threads. There is a wealth of info here. Enjoy your weekend.

Thanks all....I know I have awhile to go yet but I was trying to work this out with CW myself before I found this site. I am so thankful I did. Talking to CW directly all the time is like having a stomach ulcer and not going to the doctor about it.

Re: My countrywide story?????

Well, I just had my first phone appt. with NACA and I gotta say I'm impressed. The mans name was Lawrence and he was very helpful and encouraging. I have another appt. with him tomorrow at the same time to go over the package. I am so grateful to have found this site. I wish that the president and other elected officials would read the many stories that you can find hear because this is where they'll find the real heartbeat of America. I'm still waiting for an answer from the email I sent him (Pres.) about how he thinks is MHA plan is working...........OH MY GOD!!!!!! I must be day dreaming again.........OK back to reality..............

Re: My countrywide story?????

rkel11,

I would like to know how the MHA plan is doing too....because CW/BofA can't seem to figure out what it is, if you qualify, or how to implement it!! LOL

I tried with CW for 4 months before going with NACA (I will echo others here that I wish I had known about this organization when I first started on this journey). My restructure proposal was submitted one month ago....and I will be 3 months late as of June 1st....

Good luck to you!

Re: My countrywide story?????

Just had my second phone consult with NACA..... Is is normal to talk to different people each time they call????? This was a lady who was very nice but kept asking to send in forms that I had already faxed. She kept telling me that they couldn't use this or that. I had several questions I wanted to ask but never got the chance to. Anyway, I have more to fax in tonight and have another phone appt set up. Is there a way to look up when you'r appts. are? I think she told me Thur. but she said 5-22 which is Fri.????
Thanks everyone.....

Re: My countrywide story?????

I think when you log in to the NACA site there is a members tab up top and it drops down and show apts or something and you can check what apts are scheduled.

I will look there. Again, is it normal to talk to different people at NACA each time they call you on an appt.? Maybe they pass you file to someone that do different things with it????

Re: My countrywide story?????

I spoke to the same Naca counselor on two separate days. First call was on a Tuesday to go over the paperwork I uploaded and the budget information I submitted and then she called back on Thursday to give me the details of the restructure proposal. Maybe it depends on the days you made the appts? Perhaps the 1st counselor was off the day of your 2nd call?

I don't think it matters....

Re: My countrywide story?????

Just as a update.....I had my 3rd phone appt. today and they still want some more info. Will have another appt. Tues. and hopefully finalize then. I agree with someone else that said we need a website that shows exactly what phase and who is doing what with your file. That would sure save them and us alot of phone time.
I hope everyone has a good holiday weekend!!!!!

Getting the necessary documents can be time-consuming (it took me a while to gather everything because some stuff takes longer than others) but getting help with NACA is well worth it. CW and customer service do not mix.

Re: My countrywide story?????

The income verification statement from SS only gives how much your wife gets each month. I do not recall it giving a year statement. You will want a replacement copy of Form SSA-1099. Once you request it, it will take 10 days to arrive.
