I responded to CWs modification letter

Just some tidbits on something I mentioned in an earlier thread -

Last week I received a letter from a local team of CW account managers looking for individuals who qualify for the Obama mortgage plan. It encouraged me to call in to see if I qualify for one of the new plans that Countrywide is participating.

I called today and gave my details (underwater, 80/20 IO loan, both with CW) and my financial situation (current). They promised to call me back within a few days with details on whether I fit into the first phase of programs. He confirmed that an 80/20 loan do not necessarily fit into the current program, but mentioned that the 2nd phase of government programs should be released within the next few weeks. Hopefully the new phase will assist us with two mortgages.

It is all so nebulous when you deal with CW....I have been calling since 10/08...and every rep had the same speech....wait two weeks, there is a new program coming....then all you get are denials for the mod, have to call back and then someone undoes the denial....but the mods they gave me (3 in one week!) were all totally ridiculous and were of no help.

I went with NACA....I heard they can get past the CW BS! Keeping my fingers crossed...

Yeah, I'm hoping that isn't the case..that they just want to pretend like they are considering me. I was ready to go to NACA myself before I got the letter.
