Countrywide and Credit Report

Just FYI, My husband has signed up with a credit watch service. Last night we were notified of a change on his credit report. Countrywide has reported us 120 past due. The thing is we are current and have paid all on time. We are in the "Active Process stage" with NACA and have been waiting 6 months for a answer.

So I guess it doesn't matter if you pay on time!!! We are going to contact Countrwide but I am sure that will get us nowhere. Don't know if this happened to anyone else?

Re: Countrywide and Credit Report

Yes we were behind and approved for a mod back in Jan. Countrywide is still reporting us as late. I actually contacted the Attorney General Regarding this. I dont think its right that they approve someone for a mod, and because it takes them an additional 90 days to update their systems, that they continue to report late.

So you have been making payment this whole time? Maybe they are setting them aside?

Re: Countrywide and Credit Report

Normal course of action, at least for CW is to put any payments you make into "suspense" during the mod process until the whole thing is done and completely processed, so if they aren't posting your payments that's the reason for the credit hits, not sure how to get around thier way of doing it so it doesn't affect your credit. If you log into your online account and look under transaction history you should see the payments and all the way to right last column would show a balance with ( ) around it.

Re: Countrywide and Credit Report

Me too.
I signed modification on Oct 2008 all my payments were put aside. It;s now 190 days my case is in Custome care since 3/5/09 I call every 2 days. and last week I was told somebody else is going to manage my case. I almost cried again. I said how long do you need to verify that I signed a modif and just need to post my payments acording to the agreement. I have no hope I also wwant to contact some attorney. MY credit report is more than 100 points down and not only thta 2 credit card companies has lowered my credit loine because I am delinquent with Countrywide mortgage. Is not fair that their inefficiency is causing me thias. IF A CREDIT CARD COMPANY LOWERS YOUR CREDIT LIMIT CONTRIBUTES TO LOWER YOUR SCORE MUCH MORE BECAUSE WILL LOOK THAT YOU HAVE USED ALL YOUR CREDIT LINE.

Alikeith...what the Attorney General said respect to it???????

please respond

Re: Countrywide and Credit Report

Well i got a letter from the office of the president...it was a joke. It basically said that i was sent a modification, and as the mod states, it is contigent on income verification. Well i sent them my income with it.

According to my online account, i am approved and completed.

I told the attorney generals office that i felf like this was a wast of time contacting them and it did not good. I then told him that according to my online site, which i copied and pasted to him i am approved. Changes are awaiting and should be completed by 02/16/09.

He said he was going to again follow up on this.
