Hello Loansafe,
Thank you so much for this site. I have been visiting it often and have found some very helpful advise from homes owners just like me. I do want to thank all of you for the tips and sharing you leave.
This is my very first post on your site or any site for that matter. So please forgive me if I am not putting this in the right spot. My first and second mortgage is with citimortgage. By using some tips on your web site I was able to get them to put me a payment plan to get caught up with my payments (I was three months behind) back in April 08. I did make the payments up, but I had to borrow from family and 401k to make it.
For now I am current at least with the 1st. However, since my husband is not getting consistent money from his job, I have to pull the load of house payments and mortgage and it gets to be a struggle to get the payment in.
Anyway, I followed all the steps with the hardship letter and the emails to the exec’s that *** had posted and I did get a quick response back from the perseveration department. Long story short, I was told they could not do anything because I have too much debt on my credit cards and loans. I tried to explain to them that I am not making enough money and I had to borrow to be sure the house notes were paid and if they would just adjust the loan to value or adjust the interest to lower the payments for just a year or so I will be okay.
My loan is an 30/10 I/0 at 6.7 and second I/0 at 8.9 loan is $430,000 in California. The loan itself is not that bad at all when two paychecks are coming in. This is what I tried to explain to them.
They told me that the investor (series 2007 investor) on the loan has guidelines I do not meet and that I should seek an outside lender to refinance because citimortgage does not refi when there is no value (like…who will) or go to Credit Counseling. THE END
I did call the credit counseling company and have an appt setup. I also tried for a hardship loan on my 401K, but I have to be in foreclosure or have a foreclosure date to get ALL of my money out (IRS Rules)!
My question is, should I continue to call them (citimortgage) and fight? I really do not want to lose my house just like all of the other concerned home owners on your site.
But, even if I do not get any more help from Citimortgage, I just want to let all the others on this site know that I am praying for each of you that you have good success and favor in your endeavors to keep your homes.
Thank you so much.
