Citimortage Hamp modification

After making six months of payments on our 3 month trial payment of our hamp modification we are told that our investor:
CitiGroup Global has declined to participate or is no longer participating in the Hampd modification program.

Up until last friday, we have been told every week that our modification was in underwriting and we just needed the package to be mailed out for us to sign.

Now this week they tell us the investor is no longer participating?
I called 888995hope and was told by my counselor that
Citi is participating in Hamp and that the individual investor cannot participate, I can only be declined if I do not qualify.
Any Suggestions or help??
We have been on a modified payment from 8-2008 when I was with CitiResidential, who promised me after six months of modified payements, I would be given a fixed rate mortgage. Then on the 7th month when my papers did not arrive in the mail and I needed to call in another payment I was directed to CitiMortage who was now servicing my mortgage. We were told that they were a seperate entity and could not honor the agreements we had with CitiResidential and that we needed to start the modifcation process over again with them.
this has been going on since 8/2008
Does any one have any help????

Re: Citimortage Hamp modification

Hi franca,

Are you sure it was a HAMP trial you were in or were you on a in house modification program. If you started in 2008, I don't think it's HAMP because that didn't start til this year.

I would call HOPE again and explain your situation to them and see what they suggest you do. In the mean time I would wait and get your denial letter so you can see exactly what they based their decision on, whether it was really because they are no longer participating or for some other reason.

Re: Citimortage Hamp modification

I was on a modification with citi not a hamp.
then after i had made the 3 trial payements (jan 2009-march 2009), in march they told me that the investor did not allow for any type of modification.
they then put me on another 3 month trial payement modification hoping that they could bundle up my mortgage for another servicer.
at the end of the 3 month trial (march 2009-june 2009) in june they told me that i qualified for a new modification program (the hamp) and that the investor would modifiy on this new program. my first payment was scheduled for july and during the next 3 months i should have been mailed out documents for my signature. well every week i call for an update and they tell me its in underwriting. 12/18/2009 they tell me that my investor (citigroup global market realty) is no longer participating in the hamp program.
