Angry Modification denied, maybe a chance with Citi Mortgage HARP program?

    Hello everybody….
First I just want to thanks loansafe site for saving my time. Using the phone number provided here I got very quickly to the right person at Citi Mortgage.
Shortly: I have a Citi Mortgage $406K loan 30y, fixed at 6.125%. Property value based on Zillow is close to $400K so I should qualify for HARP refinancing. Loan is back by Freddiemac. I am still current with all my payments and a 770 credit score…

I tried a Loan Modification, handle by Annette, about 1month ago; I can not blame her with anything, she was nice and after 2 weeks I got unfortunate a negative answer from the investors, because they don’t see immediate threat for foreclosure, being current in payments. I understand all these, however I don’t agree with Citi handling the case….because they are not following Obama plan to eliminate and reduce the foreclosure risk…
They gave me some Citi offers (not base on Obama plan), one basically to include tax in escrow account, without any total reduction (even adding PMI!) and other to extend loan to 40years. None make sense for me, especially I am 57y.
I have my monthly mortgage payments (including tax) at about 38% of my normal income and based on Obama plan I should qualify for HAMP exceeding the %30.
In top of everything I do have a hardship situation as my income is almost 50% of what I usually make; the company I work for has delays in paying salaries and practically I get a bit more than half if I make the average for last 6 month; this is going on from January and may last until next year. When I made the modification papers I entered my normal income, otherwise I would be disqualify for not enough income, but of course I mentioned my hardship.
I guess HAMP modification works only if you are behind payments….
I understand that other people are in a much harder situation than mine; I had some reserve money in saving, but soon I will run out and bigger problems will start for me soon.

So I want to ask Cat who looks like she is very knowledgeable….if I still do have a chance to retry the modification.
Or to try a HARP refinancing? Anything could reduce my interest rate will help.
Annette told me the Citi response team is not handling HARP Refi. Calling directly City mortgage is just annoying and without results.
Anybody have any information or contacts phone# for Citi Mortgage HARP program; I heard Citi just started recently HARP with Freddiemac

    Thanks

the only number that we have is to the executive team that is helping LoanSafe members..........
    1-866-255-3901

Try contacting them and see if you can be put in touch with the HARP team and then see what the options are on the loan..............it would appear that you should be able to either refi or modify.
