Re: Trial period and final docs VERY Different

Some of us have been restarted on the HAMP trials with Citi after 3-4 months and may have to go another 3-4 months!

OK Now the adventue continues.

After many different storys and many days with no response I have found a new "CLOWN" to return my calls.

The new story is this. The new person in charge of my account. (Like I havent heard this befor) is on leave for the rest of the year. Does this realy mean she was fired it does happen often over there.

I was told that the docs are correct my HAMP agreement doesent inclued Mortage insurance and doesent have to. Therfor the adittonal escrow is for the insurance. IS That Right??????? I was under the impression that all the escrow items were included in the Hamp trial period. Next she totaly denied that there were two applications on my account. When i began to question here on the facts she said she would consult with underwriting and call me back. IN Record time for once I actualy got a call in 4 hrs. The she said "the numbers are alittle off but the mortage insurance was on top of the other payments. the orignal doc stated that mortage insurace and taxes were in the escrow. That is part of the diffrence. Then we agreed to disagree and I told her to send me the new doc for my review and I would contact her when that has occured and I might consult with some legal council.

Is my impression correct that mortage insurance should be inclulded in the HAMP payment or am I incorect in that fact

Re: Trial period and final docs VERY Different

I don't get it that after all these months, there are STILL people working at these servicers ON A DAILY BASIS who still don't know the BASICS of the HAMP-guidelines:

31% of gross income for HAMP MUST INCLUDE ESCROW!

No "if" or "but". Period!

I read the contract word for word to her and she still had the nerve to argue with me

Re: Trial period and final docs VERY Different

The 31% front-end DTI test under HAMP specifically does not include private mortgage insurance:

PITIA includes principal, interest, property taxes, all property-related insurance (hazard, flood, earthquake, etc.) and any required homeowners’ association dues or similar assessments which could create a lien on the property, but excludes mortgage insurance premiums

Re: Trial period and final docs VERY Different

I think people are confusing private mortgage insurance (PMI) and homeowner's insurance. An escrow account collects and pays for homeowner's insurance and property taxes. PMI is not a part of the escrow. So what is being added onto the payment as an additional amount? Is it PMI or homeowner's insurance? It's hard to tell from what is posted.

Re: Trial period and final docs VERY Different

I was going by Lionhart75 saying:

"I was told that the docs are correct my HAMP agreement doesent inclued Mortage insurance and doesent have to."

What he was told about "Mortgage insurance" was correct it is not included in the 31% piti but is in addition to it.
