trial period

hi all...love this site!!

I am wondering about the trial payments.
Mine are due on the 1st. The first one was due Sept 1.
I was told that they must be paid by the 5th, that I do not have the usual grace period as a regular payment.
But when I called to verify this I was told by another rep that it must be paid on the 1st. yet, when I paid Sept payment I called it in on Aug 30 and it did not credit until Sept 2nd. This is confusing.
Does anyone know which is true?
Has anyone paid after the 1st and been ok?
I am having trouble with the next one being paid exactly on the 1st.
thanks to all

Re: trial period

If you have a debit card they will do it immediately by phone and run it giving you a confirmation number. They now charge a $20 fee.

Re: trial period

I wouldn't take a chance; they will definitely use it against you. I was under a modification and the agreement was specific that there is no grace period. I think HAMP guidelines might also address this and it's up to the lender how they choose to handle it. See if someone can help you out.

Re: trial period

send it two day mail or overnight with a check so that they get it on the first and sign for it then you have a fews days before the check clears. You also have a confirmation that they got it on the first and that someone signed for it. I did that with my first payment and docs and it listed the mailroom person's name the date they got it, but it took a few days for the check to clear. When I called the rep told me to give it at least ten days before I call to make sure that it got deposited and by the ninth day it was cleared with my bank.

Re: trial period

I remember in documents that you have until the 15th but it would change plan for additional month on trial plan. I would not chance it call and ask supervisor in loss mitigation--so many diffrent people departments might be risky good luck....

Re: trial period

Do not run the risk of losing your modification by paying late. Dave and Sillyworld are giving you sound advice. Make sure you can track that payment. And so you aren't having to wait to see if that check got there, I highly recommend using the debit card.

Re: trial period

Yeah, definitely try to make the payment by the due date, don't count on a grace period.

I have been calling in to make payments on a debit card, and they give you a confirmation number right then over the phone. I would be too nervous to wait for mail (even with delivery confirmation, etc.) and then wait for the check to get deposited and cleared...Paying over the phone takes only 5 minutes and then you know you are done.

Re: trial period

Hi all,

I got my pre-approved for trial period on Sep 22, 2009 with citimorgage.
(The loss mitigation 866.272.4749) They, told me it will take 30-45 before I can get my package. Well today I called to check, about the package since I have not receive the ups package yet. they said that my trial has started this month, and I need to make my payment right the way today. So I did through the telephone this mornign.

So My questian is that, will they count me as late on my trial? after all no one mentions that my trial will start this month. Instead they told me the package will arrive and that I will then send my first payment with the package sign and other require documents.

Has anyone on their first month of trial making their first payment on the 3rd of that month? and not being count as late?

For sure I will make the next few months on time, since I just find out today.

Thank you,

Re: trial period

They should not count this as late, but don't leave anything to chance. Call back and ask them. Also, call collections at Citi and ask them if they see this is in mod and that they should not be putting you into a late payment situation. Don't ever leave anything to chance with these guys. In fact, I ASKED that they send me a letter telling me I was not late and guess what....they sent me a nice letter stating I was not late and that no negative info had been reported.

Congrats on being on your way! Sounds promising!

Re: trial period

They have taken my payment over the phone and have used my routing and check number from my checking account (my debit card won't allow that amount). They have not charged for this since I am in the hamp program and they give you a confirmation number at that time. The payment usually takes two to three days to clear my bank as it goes through as a check. You can also set up an automatic payment with them and they wil take it out on your due date. As everyone has said above me. Don't be late.. There is no grace period. I am on trial payment 4.
Good luck.

Re: trial period

Thank you Sunbeam, I will definitely call them back.
Will also call collections at Citi

Yes I pay them with a check, they give my confirmation number also. But the money has not taken out of my bank yet since it was just yesterday. Like Mannes123 says it will take two to three days to clear from the bank. I can't wait to see it clear out.

I will definitely will let them know I want to be on those outomatic payment, they will take the money out on it's due date.

Wow!! thank's everyone.

I am glad I found this site .......
