Confirming what others have been through

Long time since I posted anything here. But that being said here goes....

Don't want to be long winded but it is my documentation of how delightful Citimortage can be.
04/06/2009
Contacted Citimortage @ 800 422 1498 @ 1050 hrs. pst.
Spoke with Brett Jensen (Ext. 1803181) re: Establishing unemployment payment schedule of $500 per month for 90 days. Set up payment agreement for April, May, June for the 15th of each month to be automatically withdrawn from our Wells Fargo account.
Faxed copy of my ui benefits to 866-791-9219 per Brett.
Contacted Brett Jensen to advise of fax being sent.
Downloaded hardship application for mortgage modification.
Advised by Brett Jensen it will take approx. 90 days to process request for mod.
Brett Jensen;
877 202 6502
04/08/2009
Called by Citimortgage @1251 hrs
Returned call @ 1345 hrs. 877-211-3758 , ext. 1803263
Spoke with “Jerry” who stated we are behind March and April. I explained to him the automatic payments we set up on 04/06/2009 as shown above. He placed me on hold while he checked.
Jerry stated he will call back he shows no payments set-up. Advised him to speak with Brett Jensen at the above listed extension.
Spoke with Brett Jensen who advised me that everything we discussed was in fact on the account and it also reflected the fax I sent regarding ui benefits.
04/20/09
Received 2 letters demanding full payment for March and April and a confirmation number stating the 1st $500 payment was made and received by Citi. Contacted Citi @ 1110 hrs and spoke with Stephanie? who made an additional notation on the account because she said it had not been coded into the computer. She did show that the payment was received.
04/22/09
Received letter form Citi advising of extension payments and we need to call by 04/27. Contacted Elsa at Citi who advised we needed to sign an unemployment agreement and fax it back to Citi. Told me to refax unemployment papers and we should have automatically received a letter to sign. She is making a note on the account reur conversation and the fact the fax was sent already.
05/07/09 1615 hrs.
Marilyn collections states that the fax they received does not reflect benefits to be received from UI. & that I need to speak to loss mitigation on transfer I was reconnected to collections.
Documents on file, in old system. Need a letter of award from California . Call again verify and let them know you are faxing. run back thru program.
05/12/09
Re-faxed copy of original unemployment award @ 1145 hrs.. called and spoke with Brett Jensen who informed me that he was going to help. Brett Jensen asked questions regarding my spouses income, my unemployment, bills etc. Brett Jensen then stated he could lower our payment to $1300 and our interest rate would be 2.5 %. The paperwork should come in 7 - 10 business days. Once the paperwork is signed and sent back in the initial payment would be due and we would start fresh.
05/26/09
Attempted to contact Brett Jensen. Called 10 times never got thru to any agent.
05/27/09
Received notice of pending foreclosure. Attempted to contact Brett Jensen @ 1055 hrs. but was got another representative. Spoke with Ambrose who stated he would send Brett an email to get in contact with me. 4 calls to Citi so far still unable to contact Brett. Advised Brett was gone for the day and try back tomorrow. Call number listed on letter same system same as the other number.
Went thru the same 4 times using number on letter was never connected to anyone. Spoke with another representative who stated Brett was on the phone. Does anyone know whats going on????? 13 calls to Citi in 2 days and still no results????
We should be making $1354.08 due on the 26th of each month, may - july, while waiting on paperwork. Spoke with Elisha who told me the following information. Loan modification in work. We have $1000.00 on account $354.08 Elisha 1809599 making notation on account that we were unaware of the payment due on the 26th.
1530 hrs. Spoke with Fernando, made forebareance payment of $1354.08. Confirmation # xxxxxxxx.
05/29/09
Called by Citi stating we had 14 days to meet with someone to discuss foreclosure options. He stated the forebearence payments were putting us further behind. He stated he did not understand why that was done and also the $1354.08 was not applied to the account. It was sitting in unapplied funds. He then put me on hold to further check the account.
Transfered to Angelica ext:180324, who stated we needed to show unexpected non-verified expense that prevented making house payment. We would have to make a payment of $776 today or the house would be placed in forclosure . She further stated they would be closing soon and needed to hear back from
Spoke with Michele who could not reach Angelica. Made an additional payment of $776 to clear the March payment from our Wells Fargo account ck # 1280. Confirmation # XXXXXXX. Michele stated this keeps account from being 90 days delinquent. Asked about whether the loan modification was actually being processed or not. Was placed on hold while she checked. According to Michele Ext #: 1803225, the money we paid today will take care of March payment and the May $1354.08 payment. Loan modification is approved per what Michele read on the account. Next payment due is June 26th, 2009 for $1354.08, and then July 26th, 2009 for the same amount. We should be receiving paperwork next week (Week of June 1st, 2009) for the loan modification. If we do not receive it Michele said to call her back. Michele further stated we no longer have to worry about foreclosure proceeding based on our payment today.

Well after all the b.s and I do mean B.S. we received a "Loan Modification" per HAMP. Paperwork sent, forms completed ect. With one exception no signature on the 2008 Tax forms (of course not we file electronically).
Received and responded to several calls about the tax forms. Told fax them to us. Stupid me I did that 4 times over the course of a month. Finally in Sept. (yeah saved you some reading) I spoke with John who was polite enough to inform me that by law they cannot accept those forms (taxes and the signature) by fax. Mailed them out finally uploaded to system on 9/16.
My advise don't fax anything to these people send them via mail and if you're so inclined request a signature.
Well we are in Oct., 4 trial payments so far going on 5 in Nov. Called again today Was told it would take 30 - 60 days from the end of the 3 month trial period for the processing to go underwriting. Maybe, might, possibly get the modification.
In short don't fax anything, don't expect to speak to the same person twice, do what I do call back and see what the 4th person tell you. Probably will have 4 different answer.
Till then we are waiting impatiently hoping for the best but not holding our breath.
I have phone numbers if anyone wants em might be duplicates of what is already here but who knows.
P.S. If you did file taxes electronically the 1040 without a signature is acceptable by HAMP. But sign them anyway, use blue ink that way they can't tell ya it's an unacceptable copy of your signature.

Thank you for sharing your story and your advice. I wish the best of luck to you and I hope you can achieve a permanent modification. You will find many others here in a very similar situation as yours. Many have entered the trial period, but very few have been approved for permanant assistance..

Re: Confirming what others have been through

To Evan or whoever really can answer this question: Evan, why do you always say, very few are getting the permanent modifications? I do know the HAM trial payment program is now just starting to end for some, they have made 3 or 4 payments and are waiting on final mod approval, and I have read more and more where a few are getting them. I know the stats are low because the majority of applicants, have not finished the trial payments yet. I ask this question about not being approved after the trial period because I want to know why? What is the reasoning after 3 or 4 trial payments (I am Fannie Mae) that people are not getting a permanent mod? What is Citi telling people? I am pro-active and I am not one to give up yet I wondered if there is any information that would help me secure a permanent mod besides sending in pay stubs and bank statements which I read they request in underwriting and to stay active with loan mit? To anyone who has gone through the trial payments, had nothing financially changed and then been turned down, please write why; I think it would prepare all who are waiting or wondering as I. Thanks.
