What is the purpose of going to a convention (8hrs of no food, drink or bathroom break), talking to a counselor, then meeting with a CITI rep, leaving with a letter of tentative approval and nothing happens?? Why do the banks even attend?? if you have all required info and the CITI rep looks at your info and makes a proposal to you, why isn't it a DONE DEAL? My situation isn't as complicated as some, I have a 30yr fixed for $343K at 9.7%, all I wanted was get interest lowered to maybe 5% to make it more affordable. Also, NACA used to e-mail back the same day (even on Saturday) when i had a question, now it has been a week and to make matters worse, Hubert at the Executive Response Team hasn't returned my call in 3 days! What the h?!! is going on?? and what can I do? P.S. I got a letter today from CITI saying that they can't help me unless I contact them!! |

TracyV - I'm so sorry to hear this; you were my inspiration to go to a NACA conference, yet I am on the HAMP as I believe you are/were, and was hestitant about going and screwing that up by attending an NACA conference (this weekend in Oakland, CA). With you getting a letter in hand, I thought, great. But its been awhile for you since you've gone; I've watched for your posts to hope they would be positive/successful. And I don't want NACA to trumph over my own dealings with CitiM so am perplexed; I dont' want Citim to only work with NACA and tell me sorry, can't work with you, and then NACA too busy to help me. I am inclined probably not to go now. If I didn't have something going, no trial payments, etc. I would go. But with your end result being no result yet |

Citi has never said anything about NACA to me (as far as working or not working with me because of it). I would like to know if ANYONE has even gotten a loan because of NACA working on their behalf?? I am not making any payments right now. I was in Hamp but my payments were $70 higher! Common sense would tell you that if you are having financial difficulties how would a higher payment help!! So I only made 1 payment and then went to the convention where the CITI rep said not to make my Aug payment due to the "new proposal" and I would have paperwork in order to make Sept. payment. Even though I got an e-mail 8/19 that said "your mortgage assistance package was approved and you will receive you docs in 5-7 bus days" I have got nothing except 2 letters telling me that CITI can't help me unless I contact them! The reason I even went to NACA was because I was pretty sure that my husband was headed for another layoff. I thought if i could get a lower payment that even if he did get laid off, we could scrape by. He did get laid off again (3rd time in 18 mos-prior to that hadn't missed a day/got laid off in 22yrs). You are supposed to go back to NACA if your income changes, I have tried to e-mail them to see what to do, but no response, so I think I am done with NACA. I already told CITI and faxed new income, so if Hubert would ever call me back I might know something. I did get a text on my phone stating that my account is in review, whatever that means. I just want to know what they will offer, see if i can afford it and move on. Hopefully things will go better for you and your trial payments. good luck |

A week ago had 4 straight days of phone calls "can we help you" folks. With no clue of all my contacts until my record pops up probably after the auto dialers connect. They are trying to reach every one that might qualify, its just overkill to reach us already in trials and in frequent contact.

MY understanding is the big advantage of a NACA "deal" is you might avoid the trial period and go straight to modification, but that may be a dream. I am still on the Trial. I hope all that stuff I did for NACA when it ever gets to Citi will just reinforce my own paperwork to Citi (initial stuff they have never sent me anything since trial began in July) No info for me on NACA site yet. I went the first day (fri) in Phoenix
