Does this sound right???

A few weeks ago I applied for a loan modification with Citi Mortgage. I was denied over the phone for the government mod so the agent used all of my info to apply for a modification that Citi offers. I just called the loss mitigation department and was told that it would be another 2 weeks for me to be assigned a counselor to my case. I need to make a payment for my July payment but was told NOT to make that payment. He said I would need to make a payment to the counselor that would be assigned. I don't want to not make a payment since I'm about 40 days late now anyway. Does this even sound right? Please reply!

I don't think this sounds right at all.. Why would you have to wait to be assigned a counselor until you can make a payment. This will just cause you too become more deliquent. I would suggest to keep calling until you get someone on the phone who is actually willing to help. Most reps will tell you different info from the next...

Hi Kaylake

Try calling Tim in the collection dept. 1 877 211 3738 he told me he can take any payment over the phone and if you use your teller visa card there is no charge.
hope this helps
I too got many different answers until I called the number posted by this site.
They were very helpful and I dont call any of the main numbers anymore!
