Citimortgage Mod Approval!

Hi Everyone,

First thing...thank you SO much for this forum, she support and education has been a blessing. Thanks to Kat and Moe as well as everyone else on this forum for sharing.

I got word today my modification was approved! The docs should be to me in a couple of weeks.

I posted a long time back. Had been out of work for a year, behind on my mortgage, not good. I got a job finally and was changed to another counselor. She is great, very thorough, professional and kept communication. Her name is Candice. I was very lucky to get to work with her.

She submitted for a traditional modification. The final outcome of the modification was:
2% fixed !!!! Mortage moved to 40 years, and first payment in October!!!
Escrowing taxes and insurance.

Was: $1857 not including taxes $217 and Insurance $78

Now will be: $1080 including everything!!!!

I cant wait to get the docs, it hardly seems real. We know we will have a place to live for sure! It's been an emotional rollercoaster but it was worth it.

Whatever you do, keep the faith and try to stay positive.

Re: Citimortgage Mod Approval!

Abbigail,
This is so awesome! So apparently you did not get a HAM, but a traditional mod. Is this correct? YEAH!

Re: Citimortgage Mod Approval!

That's right. I was approved for a HAM, but the investor's dont work with that kind of modification.
This is actually better since it's 2% fixed for the life of the loan.

I'll update when I get the docs. She said it might take two weeks.

Dont give up and keep communication going. They are trying.

Re: Citimortgage Mod Approval!

Can you tell us who your investor s. I have CMALT REMIC.
Does anyone have any experience with them?
Also, even though I have rec'd the package and made the first payment I still had a guy come by the house with the little gold envelope asking me to contact citi mortgage at the number they give. The number is constantly busy. Who are these people? The BPO was done weeks ago.

Re: Citimortgage Mod Approval!

I got a trial period started in March with the final one being the end of May. I found out the investor didn't work with the HAM government modification. At that time I was sent to another counselor and had to pass along pay stubs and the info again. She sent in a traditional modification.

Yes, I did make my trial period payments on time every month. It was not easy since I didn't have a job at that time. My job came along at the last minute actually after many prayers. With no job I couldn't have gotten this done.

Best of luck to you all! My thoughts and prayers are there for you.

Very thankful we have had this website for the info and support!
