Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

Well my story starts back on 5/23/09 when I spoke with Eric at Citimortgage and he told everything look good as far as my paperwork is concerned and that they were waiting to hear back from the appraisal of our home. He told me to call back in a week to see if they received the appraisal. Well after several weeks of leaving him messages and no return call made, I called back on 6/23 but this time just spoke with the person who answered. Low and behold the appraisal did come back and I had been pre-approved. So the associated gave me all the information on where to send in the payments, which was to a Frederick, Maryland address. I then found this website and after reading posts saying they get different info for the same question from different associates. Well I called back to confirm what I had been told and low and behold I was told that the 2nd and 3rd payment needed would go to an Urbandale, Iowa address. I also instructed to send in the payment regardless if I received the paperwork or not. (Both associates told me the same thing). I was told on June 23rd to call back if I had not received the paperwork by July 7. Well I called back on that date to let them know my paperwork had not been received. That associate told me that it may take up to 15 days so to call back on July 13 if I had not received it. I called back on that day and the associate told me to wait 30 days. After realizing that I will not be home when the 30th day comes and that I would be away for 2 weeks, so I called back on the July 14 and the associate was really nice and said that I should have received it by now and that she would be forwarding my call to another department that handles the paperwork. Well after she switched me over I got cut off. Called back and had to wait 35 minutes before Eric answered the phone and I went over the conversation I just had with Cecile and if he could forward me to x4176 and he said “There is NO reason to do that…the paperwork can take up to 45 days to arrive, and if he asked them to resend the paperwork, it is going to arrive after the 1st one anyways.”!!!! I am so frustrated, understanding and happy at the same time!!!! Frustrated that you get the run around and you get different answers from the associates; understanding that this is a new program and perhaps all the wrinkles need to be ironed out; happy that this program is going to change my life!!! Does anyone know for sure how long it should take to receive these papers?? Is there another number I can call besides 877-591-4752, that would help me get my paperwork before July 29th??? I asked if they could fax or email the paperwork and they said “No”. Help if you can!!!

Re: Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

Same thing happened to me and lots of others, papers get sent AFTER 1st payment is made, it is NOT supposed to happen that way, it's against the government program guidelines, but that is how it seems to be done by CITI. Don't waste too much time with phone calls, just decide if your willing to send in the payment on "faith". I hated it-I waited until the last day- but I did it, and the paperwork arrived within 7 days. Good luck & keep us posted.

(PS, they may adjust your "due" date after you send it in, this is done by freddie & fannie, not Citi, so don't be surprised. Just follow what paperwork says when you get it.)

Re: Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

This is a update....I called Citimortgage again on Friday and this time the rep told me she too was a little concerned that I had not received the paperwork. She also told me that Citi does the approval and then the info goes to Fanny Mac. She then put me through to the document dept to check on my paperwork. The rep at the document dept told me that it takes about 30 days to receive the paperwork and when it leaves the office it is 2 day delivery via UPS. She also told me that my paperwork had not left the office yet and could not tell me when it would!!! So here I sit Patiently.

Re: Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

My 3rd trial payment is due on 8/1/09 and i still haven't received my paperwork. I called this past Friday and the rep looked up my account and said that part of my case was 'closed' on 6/23/09 which meant that the paperwork was sent out. Well, she opened up the case again to get the documents re-sent. sheesh. I suppose I should have asked if they had a tracking number, but that didn't occur to me at the time. She told me that it should come before 9/1/09 (that would be my 4th payment), and that I would have 30 days to send in the signed docs.

She said I'd have to provide 2 bank statements, 2 check stubs, and last yr's tax return. Is that what you others that have received the paperwork have needed to provide, or something more?

Has anyone gotten the paperwork, done all the trial payments and is permanently on the mod yet? Or is that still to be seen...

Re: Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

GET THIS!

I am SOOOOOO mad. So, we got approved for a mod on June 16th. At that time the rep said they could and did modify our first and second loan (both with Citi). They gave me the terms of the mod over the phone. First modded to 2% for first five years than back up to 4% after that. Second loan modded at 5. something. They said that the paperwork would be mailed and we should get it in a couple weeks.

I called two times and verified with different people that A) Our first and second loan was modded and B) Verified the payment amount on both loans. My husband also called three different times, spoke to three different people, the last phone call being on July 1st. On July 1st my husband said he was getting ready to make the first trial payment and to please confirm for the last time that we are pre-approved and the exact amount to pay. The rep confirmed everything.

We have been getting phone calls daily from Citi in regards to our loan not being paid in full. My husband explains that we are in the HAM trial period.

I call back today explaining that we still have not received any paper work. The girl puts me on hold. She comes back and says, oh well we can mail you the paper work for the first but the second we cant do anything on. OMG!!!!! I said, excuse me? My husband and I called a minimum of 5-6 times in the last month verifying everything. The girl says ok can you wait a few minutes. I'm on hold again. Then she comes back and says that she will put in a rush for my application to be mailed but is sorry but they can't do anything for the second until the first is modified. OK I AM HAVING A BREAKDOWN ON THE PHONE. The girl appologizes and says that everytime we called in the reps must have been looking at notes instead of going into the actual system and verifying everything. I think this is all a bunch of lies. She said you should have gotten a letter explaining this. I said we got no letter. My husband called literally right before he made the trial payments and everything was verified. She said. Sorry. You should make the rest of the payment real soon so your credit isnt all messed up. Hopefully you should get the paperwork for your first within two weeks because I just put a rush on it.

MOE!!! What is your take on this??

Anyone? This is bizarre.

Sorry to hear your frustrations and bogusness of your situation. "Bizarre" yes, but I'm not surprised either. So many laws changing daily, so many different people handling so many different cases of which these people answering the telephone are pretty much just a telephone operator that have some general knowledge of mortgages etc, and just follow a set of rules/guildelines given to them by their supervisors. Probably hourly workers making $10 an hour, so unlikely that you will get someone that is really eager to help and will go the extra mile to dig into each one's situation. Most of these people are in robotic mode.

Give you a small unrelated example. I used to work in a computer memory company. I worked in the offices in the manufacturing building, so everyone in that building got scanned by a metal detector wand (like the ones at airports) to make sure we weren't stealing anything. Well, one day, i was going out for lunch with a co-worker and as the guard was wanding me, my friend said jokingly, "hey, check his shoes..." You know what the guard's response was??? "Why do I care...I'm only getting paid $7/hr."

I'm not talking down on these people or anything like that, I'm just speculating the 'level' of individuals that are handling these day in and day out. I'd be very surprised if the majority of them even had a 4-year college education (however, I could be way off, but I can't see these banks hiring all these people to handle the thousands of calls every day and paying them $60k/year or more to do this type of work). So I'm not at all surprised by your story, seems a lot of people (including myself) are getting the run around and "lied" to and different stories from everyone they talk to just in varying degrees.

I suggest calling in and asking for a supervisor or manager and telling them your story, and getting the story straight from them. Make sure you get their name and id etc. And let them know you're recording their i.d. in case you have to go back and complain, then they might make it a point to give you the right info...

Re: Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

Thanks.

It is just so depressing and annoying. You can obviously call everyday or every minute or every second and they can change what they tell you on a dime and then just say "sorry."

SO, for everyone who still havent received your papers, I hope you don't end up in my situation. They supposedly are just getting ready to put a rush send in them now a month and a half later.

This is just such a huge lie, mess, etc.

Re: Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

Hi everyone. I am to very upset. I was approved for the HAM program last Friday. Told the rep needed to talk to my husband, he noted the account. Called back on Monday talked to another rep who tried to start the procedure. But the previous rep noted my account as denied program. She assured me she would work on the problem. Called this evening while sitting in traffic. New rep told me I don't qualify for the HAM program. No reason given. Transferred me to the Home assistant program (I not sure on the name) The lady wanted to talk me through appling online for a modificaiton by filling out the hardship form. Are you kidding me. And get this one everyone. As I posted in the past I was in the process in Late May of getting a modification through the modification dept. when the department and my assigned rep dropped off the face of the earth. VM full, no calls back etc... THE GUY CALLED ME TWICE!!!! TODAY. LEFT MESSAGEs FOR ME TO CALL HIM BACK AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Oh YA I called him.

Dude where have you been??????????? He told me that the reps in his department were told by higher ups to close all the accounts they were working on. Now he is going through his accounts he closed (MINE as being one) to try to help get them modifications. I need to refax paperwork to him for the third time.

I think we all need to march to Washington and tesify on what is going on here. All the banks not just Citi are working the people till you give up. I am lost to what the future holds. Every time I get started in a program, that one is no longer available, citi has a better one. I started this process honestly back in October 2008 when I was laid off. And now this is the end of July 2009. God help this country. peace out.

And if you cvall Citi, everytime you call you get different person different answer, do not deal direct to Citi you will be asking for trouble, they do not want to help you they want foreclosure they make big money on forclosures. Until Uncle Sam steps in and makes them help homeowners there is no help when dealing Direct with Citi or any other bank you need 3rd party like Naca.com

Re: Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

I have an investment property that citi holds the note on. It lost half its value, the rent is is less than the mortgage. I now have to make $4000 in repairs. Is there a modification program for investment property? I hate to walk away from it but may have to. My rate is 7 1/8 over 30 years plus PMI.

If the investment mortgage is an FHA you can get a low or no interest loan to do repairs, thats all I know

Re: Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

YEA! My paperwork finally arrived yesterday. The only thing is that the paperwork states my trial period is 9/1,10/1 and 11/1. I was told over the phone my trail period was 7/22, 8/22 and 9/22. I did call to ask if I should send in additional money to make up the difference of my July and August payment and the gentleman said "no". He said that when you are pre-qualified they have to give you some date. He also stated that since there was a delay in sending me the paperwork also added the additional time. The paperwork all needs to be signed and sent in by 9/1. So, now I guess I will have to wait until some time in November if I have been accepted or not. I will keep my fingers crossed and keep you all posted.

Re: Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

My trial mod paperwork also had the months wrong, extending me out a month longer than I though it should have, making the final trial payment on September 30th. I was like, ok, fine, one extra trial payment, whatever. But I received my final modification documents today and the date it becomes effective is Sept. 1st. So I really am only making 3 trial payments and the first paperwork was just off by a month.

Good luck!

Question Re: Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

we were approved for the trial payments, told the payment amount was 1116. We rec'd our paperwork a month later and it said the payments were 789. I called Citi (trying to be honest) and they told me not to send those papers back in, there was an error and they sendta bunch of packets out without escrow or taxes figured in. They said keep making the monthly payments and they'd send new paperwork.. that was 2 months ago. Still calling and still waiting..should I just send in the incorrect packet? Has anyone had this problem?

Re: Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

jillybean

Did they make you resend all your paystubs etc. or did they just automatically send you the documents? Also I have sent in all my documents and on the Second Month of my Loan Mod and i was told that my documents that I faxed in May will not be looked at or reviewed until November? UGGHH this doesnt make sense to me .. Because if they decide no on my HAMP I will be owe tons of money in back fees and my credit will go out the door.
thanks

Re: Paperwork still not here from Citimortgage!

OK this is my update.....After returning my paperwork, I have called just to follow-up with my account and I am so frustrated. I called on 9/8 and spoke with a agent and he told me that my paperwork was missing, a utility bill, bank statements and my social security statement. I told him I sent them all in then he said let me check and then he said, "Oh yes, they are all here". On 9/11 just to follow-up and was told by the agent told me they needed a copy of my PG&E bill (I sent my phone bill and he said they needed a PG&E bill) so I faxed it over. On 9/17 I called to follow-up making sure they recieved my PG&E bill and the agent they did not but to send it via mail. So I faxed it over again and sent it in through the mail. 9/24 still not in...on 9/28 the agent told me that the bill was in my paperwork and by November I would be told whether or not I had been accepted for the modification. I this morning just to follow-up and the agent said "You are missing 60 days of bank statements and a hardship letter." WHAT?????? after counting to 10, I said " On 9/8 I spoke with Carl who checked my paperwork and verified that all my paperwork was there with the exception of my PG&E bill". Then she said "Well according to the reviewer on 9/29 kicked it back to us with the note of the missing paperwork". So I asked if I could speak with the reviewer to see what the heck is going on. She stated that she could not do that but she would kick it back to the reviewer with a note stated that I sent in all the paperwork that I had and that they should review my case and make a decision based on what I sent. (she was kinda snobbish) So I said "No I just want to see what else they needed." So I guess I will have to keep calling AGAIN. I just do not know why they do not notified us of the missing paperwork or if the paperwork is not enough or what is missing. My advice to everyone FOLLOW-UP!!!!! UUGGGGGG, I am so frustrated! Just when I thought I was on the home stretch I find myself just going up to bat!!! Has anyone actually speak to a reviewer?
