I have read thru the posts and apologize if I missed it, but beyond the package and three month trial, have your papers been what you thought? Did you have an attorney read it? I ask this because Citi said, after my direct question about what the loan balance at the end of the 3 month period would include, (it was higher than our current balance) I was told for sure there is $1800 added to our balance in "third party" charges. I know the bank cannot charge "late fees" in the Home Mod plan of Obama but they seem to have found a way to stick it to us anyways. What has anyone else found about their balance after the three months? |

They moved my date for trial period forward two times (because they were so flooded with applicants), so originally I should have been done now, July, but instead I will not complete the trial period until September. I am just skeptical of what those papers will say. I read that the Obama plan allows us three days to review the paperwork but I also read Citi gives 24 hours, so I am curious about many things and I do not believe anyone has been "saved", including myself, until we get the papers in hand and the terms are actually financially helpful to us. PS. I would recommend to anyone who is getting the run-around or feels that Citi will help you choose your best option might want to consider reading the actual plans the Obama admin. put out through the many websites including HUD and Fannie or Freddie. If you can, see for yourself which one your particular circumstances qualify you for and ask to be enrolled in it by name. It helps in many ways and you will be able to give the Team the info they need. |

Flower, when did you make your first trial payment and how many months have you been on the trial period now? Sounds like it's been more than 3 months, and you still haven't received the papers? I was told originally 7-10 days, but they're so busy, it'll take 30-40. Tomorrow is day 39, so if I don't get them this week, I'm calling to ask where it is. They told me I'd have 30 days to send back all the paperwork, not just 24 hours. 24 hours seems a little unreasonable... |

I have had the same experience as everyone else, multiple calls to them, waiting, and different answers each time, lies, wrong info, faxing etc..in April I shot them a payment above what I normally was paying because I was technically 4 months behind, I was trying to stay out of the forclosure process. However, they placed it in unapplied funds and did not credit me anywhere on my account (I would have been better off to keep it). In hindsight what happened was I was waiting for "them" to put me in a program but they really didn't (although each time I called they said I was and I should wait). In April I read the guidelines of the Obama Plan, did the basic math and called saying I wanted the "Home Modicication Program", and that I qualified.I also called Freddie Mac direct and spoke with a rep explaining how I had the ability to save my home but Citi was in the way by not putting me in the program, how I met the criteria, and they were holding my money causing the forclosure process to move forward, and if they wanted my house they could have it, GOOD LUCK! He assured me he could help and typed while I gave specifics and he shot an email to Citi. I waited. Citi did not call but I called them when the Freddie Mac said to check only to find out they HAD enrolled me (I believe due to the email) but no one had actually called or sent anything, etc...like everyone else. They wanted a payment that was "due" 2 weeks before i called but said I had 30 days from due date. At this point it all made little sense and I was hesitant to send more money (for one thing I didn't have the money) and it was basically "trust us". Over the next month or so many calls & they had (without my request, not really certain who or why) moved my trial start date from May to June and later Freddie Mac apparently moved it to July(I have called Freddie three times, only when things were really screwed up). I have made my first payment in June so that got applied to July (that alone took 3 phone calls and about 2 hours of time) but after the first payment was made (in good faith) they sent me a packet outlining the TRIAL period. It took about 10 days after the first TRIAL payment to get the trial period papers, this is Not how the government set this program up but who is policing how the mortgage companies are complying with the guidelines and what consequences are there? None, I'm sure. So, what I see on this blog and have experienced myself is that you get "pre-approved" eventually on the phone and go into the HAM system, which is an automatically calculated figure based on income & expenses. They give you a payment you must make without any documentation, then about 10 days later they send you Trial Pack and then...??..we all seem to be int the same time spot, because we were all have enrolled in April. |
