Has anyone rec'd papers for the mod? I made my first trial payment...

Not expenses, but pretty much everything else! Also, my payment was less then they told me. Citi said the amount they quote over the phone is an estimate.

New situatiion = got house payment in mail, shows I'm late, now owe over 5k, incurred a late charge, and it states that I paid 899 and they are "unapplied' funds. Is this what i should expect?

This is what happens when the right hand doesn't know (or doesn't care) what the left hand is doing. This is common with all banks/lenders not just with CitiMortgage.

Some people got really screwed this way, when at the end of 3 months they were told "Sorry, you didn't qualify for the mod".

It's best to be proactive, so when you call to discuss the gross income confusion, also mention this letter and ask your mod rep to contact the customer service department directly to inform them that you are on your 3 months mod trial period.

ls2ls: Thank you for the assistance; you were correct; they coded me and structured my payment with net income, although they showed my gross. i am to continue to pay the 899 but once the papers are returned and believe me i will check on them, they will send me a notice with the payment changing. The rep was very informative; he did say however, this will impact my credit--I have perfect credit, but who cares, when i want my house; anyway he also said the late charges that will incur along with the balancce of my regular payment due =2500-899= will be rolled into the loan. He mentioned my papers were mailed out on june 10, but the truth is, they are somewhere there and I should get them within 10 days. If i do not get them, he said they would set up a plan for me on the phone. Nonetheless, I am very thankful I found out my loan mod payment was wrong and that i will continue to get called for a late payment and my statements will reflect my trial payments as unapplied until the loan is modified. Wow, you all have been great.

Thanks so much for posting all of this info about the paperwork. We too have been approved for a trial period and are scheduled to make our first payment July 11th.

We were told they would freeze reporting the credit agencies while we were on the trial period.

I also have read they are supposed to drop late fees if your loan is modified.

I did all of my preapproval stuff over the phone so have not sent any paperwork in, we too are waiting for the packet to arrive, they told us 30 days after we were approved for the trial which I am guessing should be around the time the first payment is due. Do you have to send in bank statements as well as tax forms, paystubs, and hardship form. It looked to me in previous thread that they didnt ask for it, just curious.

I'd like to answer your questions about the papers, but as many, i am waiting. I hear and read several things. It seems, it depends upon what type of loan you have; conventional, Fannie Mae, etc. For instance, I did not fill out any hardship app, I applied over the phone and was accepted and given a confirmation #. The rep just told me yesterday, I'd need all sorts of paperwork, utility bills, paystubs, bank statements, tax returns; he said the bank statements were needed to assure I didn't have some huge savings (not like 2 or 3 thousand; not sure what they think is huge). Then i read, just paystubs and tax return and i remember one of the reps when i made my first payment told me this information. Unfortunately, I wait for the papers and will post again if I get them soon and detail what I received. I am thinking to fax and mail them both(with a note stating I faxed them) since I have also read on other posts, that no one seems to get the fax. Its encouraging that you have been told the late fees will be waived and also not be reported to the credit bureau. Again, the rep I talked to said the late fees get rolled into the new modification. Such a variety of different information. 2 reps have told me it is possible it will affect my credit.

Its my first time on but have been reading threads since 4/15 Great info.Thanks i knew i wasent alone. Well we were prequalafide over the phone on 4/15 and after 30 phone calls we are now paying our 1st payment of our 3month trial. Its due on 7/8 and yes i did get my papers from ups. i was told they would come by mail. yea right. On 4/17 faxed all my paper work only once thank god.I never called the phone No for loansafe members.they answer the no i call its never busy and if i dident like what they had to say i would just call it back and talk to someone else. 866-713-4784 FYI No one has ever called me from citi.You do not need bank statements or credit card info to send back for the trial period but i think you will need them after the trial period.After reading threads i feel so lucky to get my papers.We qualafide for the HAM and are with freddie mac

Were you bothered by Citi's customer service during the trial period to pay the total monthly payments instead of just the smaller amounts? Were you getting letters or phone calls asking for the full payment as some have?

sorry im with fannie mae.My 1st payment of my trial payment is due 7/8 They call every day i dont even talk to them,they have no clue.even telling them about dealing with loss mid they still try to get a payment.I just hang up. Its best not to deal with customer service they just want a payment.

I don't know if my situation is different. I was given two options on my mod. The Obama plan did not lower my payment much so they gave me a traditional mod. They lowered my interest rate to 4.125% fixed for the term of the loan which lowered my payment $400.00. They called two weeks ago and said they had to do a title report and I received the docs Monday this week. I had to pay the first months payment and an additional amount to bring my impound account current (I hadn't made a payment since Feb'09) and have it back to them by 6/29. It went overnight today.

Well, at least they're consistent.
I thought only some people were harassed to make full payments during their trial mode period.

UNBELIVEABLE!!! I just call Citimortgage to check the paperwork status, the lady told me that she needs to order the appraisal because they don't have the appraisal value on their file... what??? appraisal was done in the begining when I applied for the modicication. Which the representative told me appraisal value is back and I am approved and told me what is the reduce payment is, I even made two months trial period payment. And now I have to wait another 4-6 weeks in order to get the result of approval. Is anyone has this kind of situation?

I suggest you call again and talk to someone different. There's incompetent people in every organization. From my understanding (depending on the mod you're getting), appraisal is one of the things they need to receive back in order to approve you for the mod and put you on the 3 month trial, so it's somewhere in their files otherwise I don't think you'd be on the trial period right now. Try talking to another rep and see what they say...

Thank you for your suggestion, actully I just call again and spoke with someone else. He said my case is very confusing and he need to check with his manager, after that he told me they need to order the appraisal and est. takes 4-6 weeks. And he also asked me did I spoke with MOS??? I said no who is that? is a person's name or what? And he told me MOS is third party who handle my case now, and I asked him to provide me a phone number of MOS, which he did.
After that i call MOS, and I told them the reason I call, the lady who is very helpful, and she said she dont want to put me on hold and she said call me back in 10 minutes which she does. She ask me did I received a packet and I said no, she said she will process and I will received the packet in about two weeks. And I ask her what about the appraisal? She said she dont understand how Citimortgage approved my case without appraisal? And she said it doesnt matter who approve me (MOS or Citimortgage), she check on everything and said I am approve, she will send me the packet ask told me to call her back if i dont recieved in next weeks. And I also ask her is from now on MOS will handle my case instead of Citimortgage, she said yes, she also give me her extension to call her if any problem. I am very confusing now...MOS is a division of Citimortgage? or they hire other company to process modification??

I was initially set up by a Citi rep for the HAM plan and received all my docs (signed and sent back in April), however that rep has switched depts and they told me that MOS is now handling my mod (i cant even reach her anymore).

When i called MOS they told me that i am already set up on the modification and that MOS only processes initial loan mods but do not process the permanent modifications so they have no work to do on my account. Has anyone else heard otherwise?.

I called CitiMortgage and the final Citi rep i spoke just told me to make all of my trial payments (last one due August 1) and i should automatically receive permanent modification documents. Does this sound right? Does anyone know what the actual steps are after you make your final trial payment. Im worried since i dont actual have a loan counselor anymore. ***, your input on this would be great, thanks.

It seems so odd, some people get papers, others don't - some advise, don't make trial payments till you receive something; yet if you don't, your "one" chance to get the mod is gone per other rep's advice. Today I'm calling the executive number since my papers are due anyday, mailed out but not really, on June 10th and I'm continually nervous, since I don't want foreclosure down the road, although.. if part of the program, its suppose to stop that. Am I part of the program? Verbally yes. See, I'm sick of every day being called by some service of Citimortgage, who does not have the cutomer service screen in front of them, but obviously just a list, asking me for a payment. I've paid one trial payment but it remains, unapplied. I'm due to pay my next one on the 1st. I will ask the executive team if what is happening to me, should be happening. Or can they help me get the modification. Again, I'm not fannie mae or anything but regular conventional loan and I'm a paper type confirmation person; verbally telling me I'm excepted, when down the road, someone could decide I'm not is a hard way to live.

Here I go again. Listen to this. It's informative actually. I did talk with the executive number's (1-866-255-3901) rep regarding my modification. Seems I got into this, before all the government requirements were in place and all the information I've been depending upon is not so. So previously, yes, I've spoken with a rep, who took my information and gave me a trial payment, but in truth, I'm not in anything, no program. I'm simply now behind on my mortgage payment. After discussing my situation with the executive rep, it appears because I have a 20 year loan, it will can't be restructured to a 40 year under this Obama plan. Even at 2% interest, my 20 year loan will not get me into the 31% I need to be in to be qualified for the 'Making Home Affordable' program of Obama's. And, a crucial step was missed for qualification purposes. This rep is sending for a property value which he should have in about a week. No one did that. I must first be approved or denied for this plan before looking into others (Fannie Mae). I believe now I will be denied in ther MHA program, even though all along, I've been expecting papers and expecting to continue with my trial payment. My 899 trial payment is simply held up in Citimortgage as unapplied funds; its waiting for me to pay the balance of my original payment to be applied to my loan. Thus, I must now make a 1600. payment to bring it current. I can't do that until I get paid on the 1st and normally on the 1st, I'd be making July's payment; now I'll be making the difference up of Junes!. So on July 1st, I will make that payment and bring it current. However, the July payment, I can't make until August since I'm now will be a month behind based on Citi's HAT team telling me I was accepted into the plan. I'm not. Once I fail being allowed on the Obama plan, then I will need to seek additional income to be approved for a Fannie Mae. I am to call back in 1.5 weeks and see where were at. At least I have a name and phone number/extension. However with Fannie Mae, I have to prove onecan make the new loan modification payment and my present income probably wouldn't work for it either. Wow, what a mess. So my boyfriend who has been paying my utilities, will become my extra income, and he will give me the money he was paying my utilities. Its my only hope towards showing extra income. The fact is, if I can't get this modified, in any form, my house will be gone. And I can't live with that thought since I do have a job, I am making a living, but its cut way back and will be cut even more on August 1st. I hope this helps explain a little bit since my confusion over getting papers, being accepted, was not correct.

So at this point I may be glad I never excepted the Citi MOD make half payments for 3 months thejn they look to see if all your bills are paid up and if not then your disqualified from there program..I told the lady to make half the mortgage payment for 3 months and use the difference to pay of my other bills would be impossible, would just pay them down a little with still same payments due every month, and I asked for some paperwork she said no paperwork is sent untill they make a decesion if your in there MOD program..Thats when I told Annette at the Executive number I agree to nothing without seeing it on paper first, been ripped off before and cannot afford it to happen again..

Seems there should be more direct answers given from all these Banks, as they pick and choose whom gets these MODs just read around hewre and see some get some do not and many if not all of us have this Silly Waiting times, to make your Nervous sick and possibly loose your Job from all the Worry...SICK...SICK...SICK I tell ya, some of the Silly Replys I get when I called Citi I wish there was a SMack Phone for the other end...Lol

That $899 number did appear "strange" for a HAM mod from the beginning. It's amazing how some CitiMortgage reps can still dish out inaccurate information so long after the MHA program was introduced.

To everyone,

As far as getting paperwork before the 3 month trial mod begins, I think several people on here were given a trial mod without receiving any paperwork.

However, has anyone got a trial HAM (Home Affordable Modification)mod without CitiMortgage obtaining their "Home Value" either by BPO, appraisal or in any other way?
