I asked the lady what the difference between the FICO score and Vantage score is. She said Vantage will generally be higher (as you mentioned earlier) because the scale for Vantage goes from 550 - 990, while FICO goes from 300-800. I called Citi today to make my 3rd payment, and asked the guy about the differences of scores. He said there is 3 scores, FICO, Beacon, and Vantage and he believes Equifax uses FICO, Transunion uses Vantage, and Experian uses Beacon, which is contrary to what the other Transunion rep told me the other day, being that all 3 credit bureaus use the Vantage model. So I don't know. CW, so you already got your paperwork and mailed it back? What specific documentation did they ask you to provide? What is your situation, you're applying under Obama plan (i.e., reducing house payments down to 31% of your gross income?) |

Well, I got my Transunion VANTAGE score yesterday: In the SUMMARY section where it marks off the number of delinquent or derogatory, it says 0 delinquent and 1 derogatory (which of course is Citimortgage) In the Detailed section of Citimortgage it says, "Paying Partial Payment Agreement" but shows "Current" Then in the comments section it under Factors That Most Affect Your Score (listed in order of impact) - #1 is, "The amount paid on your open real estate accounts is too low. So obviously my trial payments negatively affect my credit score. My score is very high though, it's 922 out of a possible 990 so hopefully that's representative of my FICO score too and it says my score is better than 90% of the population. Anyway, that score was created only after 1 trial payment. I made the 2nd one last week, so that's not on this credit report so my 922 I'm sure is lower now... |
