Re: SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage!

This is exactly what my TransUnion report says:

PAY STATUS: Current paying as agreed
REMARKS: Paying partial payment agreement

I just pulled this report about a week ago. They are showing payments each month and NO late pays. We have made our first 2 trial period payments.

Re: SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage!

Equifax and Experian are both reporting:
Current paying as agreed.

Our BK was discharged on 3/25/09, so I have been monitoring very closely cleaning up any discrepencies. Our loan mod. lowered our payment almost $500 and we are extremely grateful.

Thanks to LoanSafe providing us with the number to Citi Executive Response Team it was an easy process for us. We dealt with Aubrey in the beginning and then our file was transferred to Annette since we are modifying our 1st and doing a settlement on our HELOC.

Re: SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage!

Your report is quite consistent with what I read on another internet site. Trans Union seems to be the only credit bureau to be adding the derogatory language. However, I am glad that it did not negatively impact your score in any way. Congratulations on the modification.

Re: SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage!

Thank you.

Right now we are just waiting on the settlement offer on the HELOC. When I called last week I was told "it has been submitted for approval"......I hope that means we are almost done.

We offered 10% settlement.

Re: SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage!

gizmofab Am I missing something here in this thread.
The title reads "SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage" though I have read through this and I do not see where the success is.
Citimortgage has started a modification of some sort with you and has ruined your credit and you still have not been approved for a permanent payment. Did I not read something correct?

Does it cost anything to pull a report from the 3 credit bureaus? I've never actually done it, and how long does it take to receive the report from the time of request? Thanks.

Re: SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage!

Just remember that the free reports that you are entitled to will not show you your score just your credit history information. I believe to get the score, you will need to sign up for the credit monitoring services like citi identity monitor and myficoscore, etc, and those are not free. Citi for example gives you your score from each of the three credit bureaus for about $12.95 per month. They also monitor changes to your credit on a daily basis and alert you of same.

Some people are reporting a huge drop of approximately 100 points as a result of the negative reporting and some are reporting no changes. The passage of time should shed some more light on this issue.

Oh, it doesn't give you the score? hmmm...i guess i'd be interested in the comments/history too, but more importantly the socre.

What about myfico.com or something like that? I heard that's free, but haven't tried it yet. Anyone have any experience w/ that?

Re: SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage!

abc
I recently pulled all three of my credit reports for free but on one of them I selected the option of getting the score for maybe $5.95. Make sure you are getting the FICO score though. They have another scoring system that is new called VantageScore. I'd thought I had a ridiculously high score until I realized it wasn't FICO. You have to really read though because they will just say do you want your score and it ends up being the Vantage Score not the FICO.

Re: SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage!

Does using a site like Free Credit Score & Credit Reports. No Credit Card Needed to pull a free credit score from Transunion adversely affect your score? Does it count against your score to use this site to pull a score?

Re: SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage!

It does not affect your score when you pull your own credit. If you need to know your score, I suggest myfico.com. This way you know you are getting the FICO, but still be cautious to ONLY get the FICO. And no one will give you the score for free which is an issue that sticks in my craw. Sillyworld gave you good advice on getting the report. This is the only way to get a free report without using a credit card. freecreditreport.com is not free, I don't know why they call it free.

Use this one for a report: If you see anything that is wrong, you need to dispute it. Disputing incorrect things on your report and getting them corrected will RAISE your FICO score.

Re: SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage!

I had 3 credit reports in MAY and all 3 different Banks gave me different numbers so who to believe, I think numbers are Nill, just check and make sure the reported info is correct, and I would say as long as no ever late pays then you should be in the 700;s depends on who checks and what they wanna rate you at...

Re: SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage!

Just an update to my story...
We were told originally that we were "pre-qualified" over the phone on 5/11/09, and that we should expect our trial period paperwork shortly. After many phone calls (and no paperwork), we were told that our file was closed on 5/12/09----so we were again "pre-qualified" over the phone on 6/22/09; we were give the terms and everything. There was some confusion as to whether we should make our first "modified" payment before we rec'd the paperwork, but within the 30 days...or if we should wait. We decided to call in our first payment (based on the verbal terms given to us on 6/22/09) on 7/15/09. When I called in to make the payment, I was told that, "...for some reason..." our payments had not been set up in CitiMortgage's system, and that until they were, they could not accept our payment. Oh---also, when I was cued to enter my account number, there was a recorded message that said that for reinstatement and pay off information to contact the CitiM. atty who was handling the file, and that I could press option #1 to get the phone number of the attorney. I decided to press the option to speak with a customer rep. (in Loss Mitigation) and told her that all I wanted to do was to make our first modified payment. She told me that "...given the status of [your] loan..." I would need to contact the attorney handling the matter. When I asked what the status was, she said that as of 7/13/09, my file had gone into foreclosure. I AGAIN gave her the same story that I have now given to approx. 20 different reps., and she said that perhaps the file was sent to the atty in error, as she did see that I was "pre-qualified" for the HAM program. That same day, my husband spoke with two separate reps. who assured him that everything was okay, and that we were NOT to make a payment until we rec'd our paperwork--otherwise the $$ would go to "unapplied funds" and would not be applied to the first mod. payment.
Well--today, 7/21/09, I called to check on the status of this phantom paperwork, and was told that the reason that I haven't rec'd anything yet was because, the file was closed "...for some reason..." on 6/22/09---THE SAME DAY AS OUR PRE-QUALIFIED APPROVAL! Sorry for the caps but I am so frustrated that I could cry. The rep. on the phone today had to go through the same info (our fnancials), but this time I was told that since we are now in foreclosure, they have to do it a little bit differently, and the paperwork now has to come from the Foreclosure Dept. Incidentally, I rec'd a letter from the "Foreclosure Dept." and was told that a company called CR Title (if you call their # it says they are Five Star Servicing / CitiMortgage) now has our file since, "...all reasonable efforts afforded you to cure this default have failed." I did call the number on the letter on the 15th when I first heard the recording and was connected to what sounds like an answering machine msg. I left all my info, and to date, no one has returned my call.
At this point, I am supposed to wait until the end of the week for a fax from the Foreclosure Dept. that supposedly will be our trial period papework. The rep. today also told me that it was good that my husband & I have been calling so frequently (at least 10 times since 6/22/09)--because we have been able to catch this "before it's too late." Really? Is it my job to catch their errors? At this point, I do not believe anything that is told to me. I get anxious knowing that I will have to relay the same story over and over, and that I will most likely get a new explanation as to the status. "Luckily," (I was told), Citi does not yet have a sale date listed on the foreclosure. I have 10 pages of 12 font, typed documentation in our dealings with Citi since Dec. 2008! I am over it!

Question Re: SUCCESS With Citi Mortgage!

I finally have One person who is handling my case. I have a V.A loan and have been paying a modified payment since March , that ends in August. They warned me they may Not be able to bring down my interest rate , but they may be able to stop any baloon payment with late charges etc. BUt : I still get normal phone calls daily from some one Else at Citi. Telling me that I must contact them Asap.:tele: 1-877-816-9736 . that my loan is in Defaut and they may need to take Aggressive Action. Half the time I really am not sure what is going on. But if they get rid of the Balloon payment that is some assistance . I am a disabled Vet. Awaiting a compensation decision from the V.a . What ever prcentage they give me I send to the state and they will Cut my House state tax by that amount . Which will also help.

But I get one answer from the rep I now have and A daily call from the Number above

Yes: call me So Confused.

You have to really read though because they will just say do you want your score and it ends up being the Vantage Score not the FICO.
Ok, I called Transunion today and it looks like my modified payments are adversely affecting my score. The comment in the file was "Paying partial payment agreement" and the guy said that it is having a negative impact on my score. He woudln't tell me the score though, said I'd have to pay $7.95 to get the score.

He then offered to set me up on some monitoring service for 30 days free, and I'd receive my scores from all the credit bureaus. And I can cancel within 30 days to not be charged in following months, so I chose to do that and I can call in 2 days to order my score/report to be sent to me.

He mentioned the score is NOT FICO score, but Vantage score, and then he told me that all 3 credit bureaus use the Vantage model.

So my question is when you apply for credit at banks or wahtever, I thought these companies pull your credit score from the 3 credit bureaus, is that not right? What's the difference between FICO and Vantage score and when is your FICO score used then?

I disputed the negative comment about paying partial payments agreement and he filed the dispute and told me I'd hear something in 30 days.

I don't know about that. I've been led to believe all the banks, cc companies ect. are still on FICO but it's still easy to see what a decent score is with vantagescore.

On another note, abc, I sent back my Mod docs and when I talked to the mortgage company they told me they had an agreement with NACA to freeze reporting until after my first modified payment is due. I never had to do a trial and I'll pull my credit again in a couple months to see how the new payment has affected my FICO.

Hopefully you will get yours finalized too.
