My name is Mary, and I live in Florida. I am looking for any help that is possible. My husband and I own 2 homes with Chase. We purchased our second home August 2006. Monthly payment is $1389.53 with an 6.75 rate%. We also have a Equity loan with a payment of $200 monthly. When we purchased our home, our intentions were for my parents to live there. At the time they were both working full time jobs. July 2007 my father had a severe stroke which left him unable to work, and my mother as his primary care taker. She was unable to work being the fact she had to stay home with him. While filing for disability and SSI (which can take up to 2 years) they fell behind in their payments and used all of their savings. Since then, as of May 2008 my parents moved out and found a smaller home with a much smaller payment. We had that happen for the fact that we might be able to find someone to rent/lease the home. Which we have been unsuccessful of with the market. Who wants to pay such a high payment, right? Well in April 2008 we applied for homeowners assistance with them. April 23rd, I faxed 18 pages of documentation to them. They stated it could take up to 90 days to get any feedback. We waited and never heard anything back, but after reviewing people's complaints I see that it is not the first time that you have heard that either! As of now, October 10th we are 3 payments behind. My husband contacted them tonight and they really were not helpful but they did ask that we send a hardship hand written letter for forbearance. They did not explain to him what exactly to ask for or any detail as for which they were very short. So here I am begging for your help and advice on how to help us clear our mind. We can't sleep and we fight constantly over this. If I need to post all of this on the forum I would be glad to, it's just I felt this was the quickest way to get heard. Thank you in advance for any help and I look foward to hearing from you soon.
Also...I have started a letter and this is as far as I have gotten...
being in this situation is horrible!
I am writing this letter in regards to my Chase Mortgage account. We purchased our this home in August 2006. Monthly payment is $1389.53 with an 6.75 rate%. We also have a Equity loan with a payment of $200 monthly. When we purchased our home, and up until May, my in-laws were living there. At the time they were both working full time jobs. July 2007 my father-law had a severe stroke which left him unable to work, and my mother as his primary care taker. She was unable to work being the fact she had to stay home with him. While filing for disability and SSI (which can take up to 2 years) they fell behind in their payments and used all of their savings. Since then, as of May 2008 my in-laws moved out and found a smaller home with a much smaller payment. We were hoping with that happening that we might be able to find someone to rent/lease the home. Which we have been unsuccessful of with the market. As of October 11th we are 3 payments behind. My wife and I apologize for not being able to commit to the agreement in which we made. We have placed the home on the market for rent/sale, as it has been since May. We have had people interested in it, and they have asked if we could lower the price. As I explained earlier in this letter the payments monthly on the home are over $1500. We have recently started our own business along with my wife and I working 40+ a week with our other jobs. We took our daughter out of school, which is now saving us $500 a month...
Sincerely,
Mary
