I have been in the MHA program since April 2009, did everything I was supposed to do, have made all 8 modification payments on time or early and now after receiving a letter from an attorney regarding foreclosure, Chase now says my modification was moved "accidentally" out of the program and I "might" have to start the process all over again. WTF. They also said, "its an easy fix, its probably a coding error", but "it will take several days to fix".

I have also called The Hope Line had a three way call with a very aggravated guy named Jacob from Chase who said "you've already escalated this three times, what else do you want me to do?" I told him if it was such an easy error, than it should be an easy fix and why should it take days or weeks to fix it?! He just told me that by "calling several times a day or calling everyday wouldn't get it done any faster". "You should just wait for someone to call you". I told him in 9 months of this process I have had ONE phone call from Chase, telling me I was approved for the Trial Mod. He had no response for that.

So now, I've had this escalated to the Treasury Team 3 times and am still waiting for some kind of answer.

When pressured about calling frequently, I told "Jacob" that this is my house and my life you guys are messing with, don't expect me to not be angry, I've been patient for 9 months and 3 days of dealing with Chase. Enough is enough.

I will call tomorrow for a status update and resume MY harassing phone calls on Monday. They sure don't like it when the tables are turned.

Go for it. You bet. They have got to stop this BS. they have been in this business long enough to do a deal right. I suppose you have already let good old jamie and company know what's up, so I won't tell you to do that. There are some numbers and faxes on the "Contact numbers" thread inthe chase forum if you need them.

I just received a call back from Jacob who told me he actually worked in the Foreclosure department...he apologized for everything and did admit that it was a Chase error and that they were correcting it and sending it back to the underwriters immediately for an escalated review and final disposition. He said everything is in order and apologized several times for putting me through this fiasco. He also said it was never taken out of the Modification process and that some of the reps were using outdated software and that now they have a streamlined work flow so everyone is on the same page, but not everyone had converted over to the new program and that is probably the reason why so many people keep getting different answers for the same question, it depends on the department you get and the software version they are using. (At least its a new excuse, anyway).

He told me to keep making the Mod payments and someone WILL get back to me in the next few days (probably next week because of the holiday).

I hate being a ***** but it seems it is the only way anything gets done, I was very nice for the past 2 days with everyone, even the nasties I got a hold of, so we will see...

Bunch of crap. I'm glad Jacob is working on this, but no way is an "outdated software" system an excuse that floats my boat. If they don't have the GD software they shouldn't be working on the loans. I do believe that Mr. Dimon jamie.dimon@jpmchase.com should hear about your fiasco and about the reason given to you today for the mess.

I know what you mean about being "that which cannot be named on this forum and gets blipped out" but they are driving us to it. Good luck.

Be careful with that as in many states it is illegal to record phone calls without consent (which is why you always hear that recording that "this call may be recorded or monitored for quality purposes".. yeah right, quality is the reason.. LOL)...

I believe that in California it is a felony to record a phone conversation without both parties knowledge and consent.. The banks know this, and it is what allows them to lie all they want... Tell them you are recording the conversation as you are required to do, and watch them clam up in a heart beat...

I can't record, I'm in PA, not allowed, which sucks because they record you whether you allow it or not.

Yes, I have 3 people working on this issue, all three have escalated it to Treasury (I'm probably not a very popular person over there right now), but THIS IS MY LIFE! And I'm not kidding, I know other people do not have the same attachment to their home like we do, and are able to "walk away" and not look back, but we built this house with our own hands, we dug the foundation, laid every single block, hammered every single 2 x 4, hung every piece of sheetrock, everything we have done on our own with NO HELP from anyone. We have lived here for 25 years and I'm not leaving here in an upright position! To some it sounds extreme, that's ok, its my life and I'm entitled to feel this way. People need to learn that they can't just mess with other people's lives and not expect consequences.

All in all...I am willing to give it until next week and then I will reassess and decide what's next. Which is really hard, because I am not a patient person, as you might have noticed.

Update: I got got a phone call from a guy named Kevin Lamb in Florida, he said he was working with Treasury and he said my file is now in the actual hands of the underwriters for review with a final answer by the end of next week. He said he was responsible for correcting the error made by Chase and that my file is no longer threatened with foreclosure status and is actively being reviewed by the Chase underwriters. He would not say whether it would be approved, obviously that is an underwriting issue, but he did say I will have an answer one way or another next week.

He told me that I can call him directly if I hear nothing from Chase by the end of next week. Very reassuring and pleasant.

So...that squeaky wheel got greased after all.
