I'm not going to fight with Chase over this house. It's not worth my health. My question is, do I need a lawyer to help me through this or can I just live here until my 6 months or so is up and just walk away? I'm unemployed and can't afford a lawyer. By the same token, if Chase wanted money from me I have nothing to give. Any advice as to what to do next? |

Are you upside down? DO you have a first and second or ? What state are you in so we know if it is a recourse or non-recourse state...etc. |

So yes would just stay as long as you can, maybe a new plan will help but if realize can't fight it at this point don't see why need an attorney. At some point will get a foreclosure notice and whatever the period is to sale in your state. But again there might be a new plan that wil help with the huge unemployment situation. |

If you are, you can try to go for an in-house modification and have NACA or another non-profit to help you through the process.

Yes, I am collecting unemployment. What's an in-house modification and NACA? I don't want to go through the crap I see Chase putting other people through but if there is a chance of keeping my house, I'd just as soon do that. I'm not attached to this house in any way and have no equity in it. I decided to call Chase a little while ago and tell them I will no longer be making my payments since I was denied the modification because my situation wasn't permanent. I told them I was willing to pay for the house even though the mortgage was upside down before but since they denied me and my credit is now shot, I'm not so sure I'm willing to do that anymore. They lady I was talking to said she seen where I submitted and was denied and she see's I submitted again after I went into default and was denied again because I wasn't in default. Don't go back and reread that because you read it right. I go denied the second time because I hadn't missed any payments but I had in fact missed 2. Are these people at Chase awake when they make these denials? I told her that I was originally denied because my hardship wasn't permanent but I lost $800 a month in alimony monies. When she agreed with me that yes that is a permanent situation, I asked her what kind of idiots are in charge of making the decisions on what's permanent and what's not? she of course doesn't know because that's not her department. So, she's going to contact my underwriter who should call me back Monday to see if we can't get this settled. HA FRIGGIN HA! |

I only submitted it once. When I was denied I said screw it, I wasn't going to go through the run around Chase was giving everyone so how did my paperwork get resubmitted? Something is not right at Chase. |
