Underwriter asking for unemployment proof

I am working with the exec resolution group and just got an email back basically saying to continue with the underwriting process I need to provide documentation from my state that shows a 9 month extended period and when it went into effect. Well first my state doesnt do this but here is what I stated back...

When we qualified for MHA trial finances were
Me $265 weekly unemployment
Wife $265 weekly unemployment
$905 other provable income
$352 other provable income
$1250 rental income
Total monthly income $4803

Current
Me since they wont count unemployment $0
Wife $520 weekly (now gained full time employment)
$905
$352
$1250
Total monthly income $4760

I told my executive rep to please let the underwriter know that I am extremely familiar with the guidelines and there is nothing that states both wife and I need to have full time employment. 1 person has to have it and the overall picture has not changed since being accepted.

Thoughts?

It now seems that Chase is willing to accept unemployment for a perm mod if you can show 9 months of continious income. Which they should it states that in the guidelines.

Re: Underwriter asking for unemployment proof

They always have accepted unemployment if you had 9 months benefit. Most people only get 6 month benefits. 9 months is unusual.

That is true, Chase is supposed to qualify you for a permanent modification if you have unemployment for at least nine months.

You are right there is no guidelines that state both borrowers must have full time employment.

9 months from the date you started, not from when they asked for proof!

9 months from the date you started what? Trial Payments?

I started my first application in April, two months BEFORE my wife was layed off because she's a teacher and we were notified it was going to happen. Now, she's been receiving unemployment for 4 months. At this rate, by the time any modification could be finalized, she won't have any unemployment left. Add another reason for stalling, I guess.

Re: Underwriter asking for unemployment proof

When I applied I was getting unemployment and would continue for 9 months sent them my benefits letter. 9 months later and 3 weeks after the unemployment ended they call and say they need proof I will continue to get UI for 9 months. WHAT? I say When I applied I did and sent the benefits letter, basically she said to bad we have to start you on a new 3 month trial mod and if you don't get a job by the end of the 3 months there is nothing we can do for you, your husband doesn't make enough and we never give a permanent mod to people that are unemployed I am the only one on the loan
I am going to try and ride this out and hope the law changes or something will happen to my benefit in the mean time I am shooting emails out to every person I can find of any importance
Be Careful

Re: Underwriter asking for unemployment proof

I might receive more unemployment but at the most 20 weeks so I am not going to tell them just to have it run out again and have to go through it all again

Re: Underwriter asking for unemployment proof

The only thing they use your unempolyment statement for is their benefit.. They called the week they knew my regular UI benefits would run out, asking for updated unemployment info.. To their surprise, my state has a year of extended benefits. When I sent them proof of this, they said you can't qualify for a perm mod unless you have a job. Strange, thats not what it states in the trial package they sent me.
