We received our loan modification documents this week. I don't want to put too many details out there, but I will come back and post more details once the deal is sealed.

It's everything they promised it to be!
It's taken almost exactly one YEAR to get this completed.

Like I said, I don't want to put too much out there in case big brother is watching, but I'll be back with all the details.....and also what we did to finally get things pushed through! Feeling very elated today! Thanks for being here for me through all of this!

Thank you! I'm not sure what they can do either, lol. Probably nothing, since it's all spelled out in black and white!!
I feel like a huge weight has been lifted, and I hope the same happens for all of you.
I never would have been so learned on all of this stuff if it wasn't for this website. I'm sure I would have been admitted to the nut house long before now if I didn't have you all to lean on and hash all of this out with!

It's not a HAMP mod, just an in house mod with chase. It's what they've been telling us that we would get all along (they never said if we would get a HAMP or in house)...it's just that it took an entire year, and a lot of heartache to actually get it. I'm not sure if they thought we would eventually go away, or what.

Congrats Rachel for hanging in there!! Can you tell me were you current on your payments? Also, how many trail payments did you have to make? I'd love to hear how you got it pushed through please do share. I was denied and i'm fighting it now.
I called in last friday and was told it was denied because hardship not permanent in nature. THe rep further explained that Im making the same as I did at time of loan origination in '07. How in the heck did he come up with that they didn't look at my
W-2 and 1040? Why did I bother filling out the 4506T?

We were 7 months behind when we got approved for the permanent modification.

Chasevictim, are you trying for a HAMP mod or an in house mod? I'm wondering if we were approved because we went with an in house. They've basically told us from the very beginning that there should be no problem with us being approved. And there wasn't ever a problem with them approving us, it was just a matter of them getting our paperwork pushed through the slow, slow, slow system they have there.

I can honestly say, after an entire year, that I'm grateful for Chase today. Never would have thought those words would come out of my mouth. Wow, ask me yesterday and I could have come up with all kinds of negative descriptives for them.

Rachel, I think things are starting to look up for many of us here. I got my trial mod (hamp) paperwork yesterday! Almost dropped the payment by 1200.00! We are so excited. Next stop Permanent Mod Land. I am so happy for u. With the holidays coming you can calm down and enjoy them. Good Luck.

pbharris, ours isn't a chase owned loan. We had an investor that approved our mod. Our payment is right at 31% of our income.
We didn't do a trial period. We did do a forbearance agreement though, for 6 months. That ended the end of spring. It's been since then that we've been waiting on paperwork and getting the constant runaround from Chase.

Marie - I just submitted my final docs. Warning to anyone fed-exing to Glendale, CO.
They had a huge snow storm, and my fedex sent last Thursday, 10/22 has not yet been received as of today. Called and they said I am OK as long as I have fedex receipt...still more waiting. They have given me the thumbs up...though no terms have been quoted yet. Will keep you posted.

Did you pay mortgage insurance on your original loan?

Is mortgage insurance included in your modified loan payment?

Thank you! I feel so different today...just plain happy. I didn't realize how unhappy I had become over these last months. Now that I think about it, I think I could have been depressed. I caught myself walking through wal-mart today with a smile on my face. I hope everyone here gets to feel the same relief.

Answers to a couple of the questions:

No, we didn't/don't have mortgage insurance. Dropped that after the 1st year of our loan.

No, our modified loan does not have/require mortgage insurance.
