What department is this number from? 866-316-8896 - Loan Modification Forum

Got a call on my cell from Chase today. The number on the call ID was 972-443-5766 and the woman left a message for me to call back 866-316-8896 ext 15419. I called back and every time I dialed the extension it would ring 4 times and than hang up on me. Took one last try this afternoon and actually got someone to answer the phone. She said she was updating my file and asked me a bunch of questions about my income and expenses. She said that the info hadn't been updated since April? Found that kind of strange since Chase turned me down twice for the HAMP program when I tried to apply by myself and I've been updating my info every month since April and Chase has confimed receipt of my docs each and every time. Also, NACA just recently submitted my file on September 22nd so Chase does have all my updated info. She kept throwing out numbers for this expense and that saying "and this is correct right? nothing has changed?" After she did this 3 or 4 times I said to her "hold on, I can't confirm or deny anything without seeing what numbers you have first". She did the same with my income figure and I tried to explain to her that my income fluctuates because I am self-employed and she said "ok well its about $3000 per month right? That's about average right?" . Again, I said hold on because that's NOT right my income fluctuates!

That $3000 figure is what got my modification denied in the first place. I don't know what Chase is trying to pull here. I should have asked what department she was calling from but I didn't think of it until now. Does anyone know what department that number is from/for? Collections maybe?

Just called the number, got Irma, asked which dept this was and she said COLLECTIONS!

Another classic example of the fact that the left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing over there.

Why in the world would collections be calling you. Gosh....ugh!

Hi AAPCA,

Do you mind sharing the phone # or the contact info of the lady that you called to Chase to find out your NACA proposal status, I was at the SF STD a week ago, but don't have anyway to find out where my file is, spectialist over at Chase is no help at all, thank you for your time.
