Anyone have experience with Surefast Mortgage?

A representative from Surefast Mortage has contacted me about approaching Chase with a Short Refinance Offer which is essentially a short sale to myself. I understand the hurdle that I need to clear in selling this idea to Chase but what Im looking for guidance on is the reputation of Surefast. Anyone done business with this outfit?

They look like another loan modification company to me. How did they get your info to contact you?

Re: Anyone have experience with Surefast Mortgage?

I was researching short refinancing sources and they came up in a google search. I sent them my email address about a month ago and got a reply from a rep named Brad Davis today. Turns out they are another modification company though their website makes them sound like a broker or funding source. He suggested taking some liberties with my financial documentation to create the illusion of true hardship.

Brad claims they are batting about 20% on principal reductions, which is consistant with the 10/1 WSJ article posted on this forum regarding Bank's new willingness to forgive principal. Im not going to move forward with them, they cant do anything for me that my lawyer isnt already doing and I wont submit false and misleading financial docs to the bank.

True you do not want to do that. They are most likely trying to lure you in by telling you about the principle reductions which is very rare. Is your lawyer trying to help you get a short refi?

Re: Anyone have experience with Surefast Mortgage?

Yes, Ive retained an attorney that ive been working with for over 12 years to handle a modification with Chase. I dont have a hardship in the sense of HAMP, however I am significantly underwater (based on april 2009 appraisal) and paying an interest rate that is 50% above market for someone with prime credit. I approached Chase in July while my loan was current regarding a modification that involves principal and interest rate concessions and got nowhere. I have since stopped making payments. My attorney has advised against signing the hardship affidavit required for HAMP. Our strategy is to leverage Chase into a modification. In all likilihood I realize that Chase will end up taking the home back, however I am prepared to make that as expensive and difficult for them as possible.

A short-refi is an option if researched but I have not been able to find a legitimate funding source. Do you know of one? If so we will pursue that option.
