When you were denied modification due to "hardship not being permanent" or any other reason, were you required to immediately pay back the money not paid during the trial payments?

Is the "hardship not being permanent" just a standard denial and can mean many other things or are other reasons given on letters of denial?

Was anyone offered a repayment plan?

Were you allowed to re-apply?

What has this done to your credit to go from current to suddenly in default after being denied?

Did you still work with the same agent you had been assigned before if you re-applied?

I see mention on other threads of some people working with executive contacts, how did you get in touch with these people?

I just got this reason for denial.

They couldnt comprehend that I spent all my savings and credit cards to stay current for as long as I could. Their response was "We'll you were able to pay your mortgage for the last 18 months since you lost your job, so we think you can afford it. " BUT I do not qualify for Goverment mod because I dont make enough money?? I kept asking him to do the math with me, I make $7,200 gross a month and my PITI is $4,800, after taxes how do I pay my mortgage and eat each month, but he wouldn't go through the numbers.

There was absolutely no direction after this, they just said to get caught up and I am now 3 months behind, even though I never missed a payment before or during my trial...

I may resubmit becasue my ARM will adjust in May 2010 which would be considered a permanent hardship for increased payment.

Also I may try the government program becasue per my calculations I do qualify at 2% over 40 years my first PITI is exactly 31% of my gross, so that should work.

Denied but current with some savings. So much for that.. Adjusted in April.. Will re-adjust in April 2010 again. All I asked was for a 30-40 year fixed. They told me to resubmit.. I told them October is my last payment. 150k underwater.

No, I asked him what my options were and he said to get current or sell the home. I reminded him that I was upside down by $250k and he said well you can try a short sale and he then tried to transfer me to the Foreclosure department but it was just customer service.

You got a trial payment? That is more that I got. I have been in this over 7mos and have not gotten a trial or no news. I am paying 51% of my gross monthly income for mortgage. You are still doing better that me!
