I generally call and ask what the status of my loan mod was as I usually did and also asked Lee on the phone how long most of the HAMP loan mods are taking and he told me...well ma'am you aren't in the HAMP program your are IN THE CHASE PROGRAM. So my response...um,what the hell is the 'Chase' program? And of course Chase doesn't even know the answer to that one. I then asked why I have been talking and calling the Fannie Mae group for the past 4 months if they never followed what they told me when they said they were entering me into the Obama HAMP program. Lee then told me 'well if you would like we could run the numbers and see if you qualify for the HAMP program.' Which he then failed to mention this was also my "application" and my only chance to apply. When he finished he said we do qualify for the HAMP and my payment would be reduced to $1287 per month, do you accept this offer". And I said "DO I ACCEPT THE OFFER? What do you mean do I accept it? I thought you were just seeing if I would qualify?" He said "No ma'am, this is the only chance you have to accept the offer." I don't know about everyone else but I personally would like to discuss this HUGE decision with my spouse. So I asked him "you are asking me to make a potentially life changing decision without talking with my husband. Are your kidding me? And if I accept this offer will Chase continue to review our app for their program in case we cannot afford this payment?" He says, "No this will take you out of the other program and you will have to start all over with everything again." After telling him out outrageous it was that they think it is ok to force me to make this choice without talking to my husband he finally talked to him boss and they agreed to let me have 10 minutes to call my husband and e would keep my file open on the computer and not take anymore callers until he called me back. We eventually took the offer because we decided that with the HAMP program we knew that we would have a set payment, probably permanently, and if we didn't we could potentially keep going down this dead end road with Chase's 'program' and possibly find them surprising us with a foreclosure sign on our front lawn some day. Please call Chase and be sure you know what "program" they are sending you through, you may be a surprised as I was to find out it is not the one you thought you were in! |

BOA kept talking like maybe I wasn't in the MHA program so I called Fannie Mae and had a chat directly, they told me everything looked fine as it should for the MHA, and payments where being recorded. I don't know why these banks seem to get a kick out of trying the scare us. |

They are right when they say it is the Chase program and even though they may get in trouble and he was a bit of an a$$, he was honest. Most all delays are on purpose 95% of the time so they can keep the accounting and reporting juggling act going indefinitely. You got lucky because you were persistent if that makes sense. I think you made a wise choice to just take it and move on.

I did have a conversation some months back when they denied me for the Obama Plan and then they said that if I wanted to be considered for another that I would have to send a letter saying I wanted to opt out of the Obama Plan. I told them I never asked for any specific plan in the first place so why should I write a letter? I never did. What happened to kirkspal is ridiculous. And since you haven't SIGNED anything yet and it was only a verbal, you still aren't guaranteed you'll get what they said. Believe me. What comes in the mail could be signifcantly different than what you thought you signed. |

I get booklet of 4 payment stubs and we cannot be late (sounds like what I have been doing for 6 months, so whatever). If we successfully pay those 4 months then our mod is permanent. Well...here we go-my paperwork should be processed and to me within 15 days and I am supposed to call them at the end of this week for my FedEx tracking number. HA! From what I have seen on the posts here this is crap. I will be lucky if I get tracking number or paperwork by the time the payment is due. So I guess hold on tight here we go again! But I still have a house and I am staying hopeful...I just hope my little girl feels better so she can go to school tomorrow. |

I don't want to have that extra transaction on my bank account as long as the bank is looking at all of my stuff. I would like to send you a little money though. |

Thinking back to all my calls to GMAC i would ask a question pertinent to HAMP and felt like the answers were not jiving. |

Chase did not have FedEx tracking number for me today but instead told me they did not generate the paperwork because they denied application since I was enrolled in another "program". I knew it was too good to be true. Niko told me he was talking with his QA people and call back tomorrow for more information. QA??? I don't think Chase knows what quality assurance is. I am going to need anger management by the time this is over... I feel pretty, oh so pretty. I feel pretty and whitty and GAAYYYYYY!!! |

The paperwork is in the mail with FedEx (they actually gave me a tracking #). The payment actually went down $25 when they resubmitted our information so our payment will now be $1262 per month. So now we wait to see if the paperwork comes. Oh yeah...the good news is that since they denied the first request it pushed the processing time back enough that we get to skip Nov payment and pay our first HAMP trial payment Dec 1st! wooo hooo |

I sent it back in this week and paid our first payment of $1262. After 3 months, possibly 4, it says we will get permanent mod if everything is paid on time. I still don't trust Chase with anything more than a piece of poo, but I think I may finally believe the end of the the tunnel is near! |

We are in underwriting right now...it could be "a few more weeks" for a decision. Happy you got into the trial, but I wouldn't count on it being 3 or 4 payments. |

I called back today to double check as I didnt believe since on Tuesday someone ran my numbers wrong and I was denied. What scares me is some of the people are not trained properly. I will believe when I see it. They did not give me a FED EX tracking #. Should that concern me> Should I cal back Monday for that? I wrote Jamie Dimon The other night as well as my govenor and State senator. Will see if anyone actually calls or emails back? |

I just got there myself but my fedex came incredibly soon - I was approved on a Sunday and it was here on Thursday. From what I am reading that is not the norm. There is also some rather squirrly stuff in the package that makes it a bit unclear how to make that first payment. Mine is due on 12/16 so I am sending it next week so if there is a problem I have time to fix it. but congrats! And yes they do not know what they are doing many times. I am not trying to make excuses for them, but when you step back you realize these folks were just not set up to do mods at all. They have been scrambling for months and still don't have it right. So that makes this forum and the work we are all doing ever so much more important - keeping on them and pressing and "helping" them to get it right.
