Why, Why, WHY 50 million copies of NOD, etc?

This is driving me (and my postman) nuts. Almost 2x's per week I receive multiple copies of everything-both regular mail and certified-from EMC/Chase's attorneys handling the foreclosure process. Today alone I received 30 differents sets! (at $3.24 per certified copy alone) That's why--huh? They just tack all of those charges onto MY bill..so sad. The f/c is supposedly "on hold" during our trial period w/an in-house mod, so receiving all these threats continuously is so unnerving. The only thing that makes it ok is that technically our mortgage was discharged in our C7 bk a year ago, so in the end, if we don't get the mod but get the boot, all those charges stay with them. Nuts. Thanks for the vent.

Haha..yep, that's it! And I forgot to mention that we had a temporary address shortly before we moved into this home, so they also send the multiple copies THERE, and then they get forwarded HERE..and there is a copy for every single name and how it appeared on the original loan docs..my name, dh's name, my name together in a family trust name, dh's name together in a family trust name..you get the picture

Unnerving is an understatement. We received one Notice of Intent and it scared us to death. Same as you, our foreclosure was supposedly on hold. Yet we received the letter nonetheless.

You should save them all, and in the end if it doesn't work out you can send them all in a HUGE HUGE box back to Chase

The time to worry about foreclosure is when you get a letter from an attorney hired by the bank to actually pursue it.

rachelp that's a great idea, I wish I had saved them all..I could probably wallpaper a room with them by now, since this is our 2nd trip down foreclosure lane, and frankly, unfortunately, these notices do come from the attorneys The ones that arrived today were the "substitute of trustee"....

...received 12 more copies today...these were forwarded from an address we haven't lived at for over 3 years...called Chase's attorneys but advised nothing they can do to stop that. Copies will continue to come, over and over to everywhere until we're either in a perm mod or out on the streets. Way to rack up those fees, Chase!

I like the idea of keeping them....and a return label from FedEx if you ever get one. Put them all in a big box and send them back to Chase when all is said and done.

Lainy, I'm going to say that that is pure harassment. I would mention that to them, and then see if they stop. It's illegal to harass for a debt that is owed, let alone one that they are working on with you.

It really is so annoying...I keep apologizing to the mailman because he has to keep filling out all those little cards! I just don't understand the duplicates--there are 3 sent in each name, ad nauseum...I get it, they've substituted the trustee with the attorney's legal firm name--I have 42 copies of that now, thank you very much!

Thanks for the laugh! We have two properties with the same lender who filed an NOD on both. I think we got 34 letters in one day and didn't bother to go to the post office to pick up the other set there. Same situation...different names, Trust, etc. These charges have been bothering me until I realized, I'm in the same boat as you. We are waiting for our discharge and these houses were included in the BK. I guess I won't be paying this postage bill afterall
