Fed-Ex package came today - "YOUR MODIFICATION IS AT RISK"

After making 4 MHA trial payments and sending them updated information 3 times, we get a Fed Ex package in the mail from Chase. I am thinking that they finally did what they said they would do for us...a permanent mod. No such luck!

We get a 2 page letter titled..."Your Modification is at risk - Urgent Response Needed!". They state that we didn't submit our documents and the deadline has passed. However, a recent decision by the Dept. of Treasury is allowing us a one-time extension of the deadline. They are full of s**t!

If we don't comply with the deadline of this one-time extension, then we will no longer be eligible for a MHA modification. Curiously, they didn't list a date for the deadline...leaves it open to interpretation for them. Of course, they also state that we "must continue to make trial payments." We have a house that has dropped over $300K in value...I can't imagine that they would want it. However, I would like to tell them where they can put it...lol!!!

It's something, the banks run their business like our government, by the seat of their pants. They make up the rules as they go, such a shame or sham whatever you like...

Wait better yet, take their 9 digit Fed-x number off the label, get a large box, fill it with bricks, 60 or 70 lbs worth. Drop the box off at the Fed-x drop off box at your local Post Office and make sure you mark the label, bill 3rd party account #. Add a typed letter inside stating here is my house, its yours now, enjoy...

Re: Fed-Ex package came today - "YOUR MODIFICATION IS AT RISK"

Hi-
I recieved the same Fed-Ex today and called because I had sent them updated info less than a month ago. So I spoke with 5 different people the 4th told me that I needed to send in docs from the last 30 days, but she was not the one monitoring my loan, I also questioned her about recieving my signed copy of the trial agreement she said she has not heard of any being returned but would check, so eventually I got a name and # for the person that was monitoring my loan ( after 1.5 hours on the phone) 10 minutes after the end of that call I get a call from the gal monoring my loan she was very helpful, she said that she would send out the signed copy right away of the trial agreement. ( we'll See) Then I asked her about the fed ex I recieved today and she said that it must have been sent in error because she has everything she needs from me she is the one that makes sure I send my payments on time and papers that are needed, it has already been sent to underwriting and I should hear something in the next 2 weeks. I asked if she was sure I didnt need to send anything else and she said no and gave me her direct # if I had anymore questions not an 866 this one has an area code.
Just to let you know I have made 6 trial payments. started in April
Keeping my fingers crossed....

Got an "urgent" message from my husband whom is home today seems we have the same package at home. No date either. They list everything I just sent three weeks ago and confirmed that they had everything! This is so impossible, we all really need to push for loan mods through BK this would never happen!

Re: Fed-Ex package came today - "YOUR MODIFICATION IS AT RISK"

I too, just received the same Fed Ex. Re-faxed my original trial payment package with my 2008 tax return and two of my latest pay stubs to the fax number with their provided fax cover sheet. Will put a hard copy set in Fed Ex for tomorrow going to the Chase Fulfillment Services in Glendale CO. On my FedEx return label it indicates Mail Stop - HMP_Extension - Chase.
Imagine the money they would save if they could somehow operate efficiently. They may not have needed a bail out in the first place.

"Imagine the money they could save"

So true.

Has anyone called Chase on the notice you've received? Just wondering if they are giving the "it's computer generated" excuse.

I received the same Fed Ex package today too. Your modification is at risk. I got a letter from Chase on Sept 4th stating that my modification has been denied due to hardship not being of a permanent nature. Left hand...what's right hand doing?

Re: Fed-Ex package came today - "YOUR MODIFICATION IS AT RISK"

hello everyone, what a great community this is, today I was amazed when I googled "Chase Bank your modification is at risk" that others got the same fed ex package we did.

We have already been through the modification process and gotten modified (thank goodness) now it seems that these are being sent to us so we can RE-modify....to new rules? Or to raise our payment? Because one of these fed ex'd packages came with new payment coupons that were $400 more than our current payment.

For reference, we started modification in December of 2008, were modified by the end of Jan 2009. We are current on our mortgage payments. When we were modified we had two loans, one conventional one with a balloon. The balloon payment was lowered by $500. Call me crazy, but I feel like maybe things went too smoothly for our modification and they are trying to redo it to raise the payment and stick us with new rules and bylaws.

We called Chase both times this fed ex letter arrived and both times we said "we are already modified why are we getting this??" and their response was "well, you can try again, there are new programs now, better interest rates" "or you can just disregard".

I feel like there is something else happening here, horrible scare tactics are being used by Chase. They are bully's! Stand up to them if you have already been modified and don't fall for this re-mod trap they are trying to put you in.
