Do you KNOW the content of this PERMANENT mod that you are being CHARGED an underwriting fee for? If not, I still believe the fee is unjustified.

Also, by charging a fee, they can not legally refuse to generate the documents and SIGN them.

Re: What in the H$ll is a "Fax Fee"

a2kman Ok, today I recieved an updated statement from chase with the following:

Fax Fee: $999.XX
Fax Fee: $524.XX
Fax Fee: $020.XX

So let me get this right are they saying that everytime I send a fax I have a fee of XXX.XX

Truly confused has anyone else ever seen this. please note these fees add upto almost $1,600.00 in "FAX FEES"

I'm not with Chase, but more than willing to fax them 1,000+ pages of nothing.

It seems as though these fees are charged by underwriting and it isn't truly a "Fax Fee" but a processing fee, they have completed the review of my file and have approved the final mod. I now need to send final updated docs so that closing can verify that my status hasn't changed.

I did inquire on the fact that the Obama plan doesn't allow for fees but, because I am not a freddy or fanny loan this was a Chase mod and they can charge fees for final closing just like any other closing scenario OK fine just finish my permanent mod :-).

Please dont let this go. Even if you wait until you get a perm. mod. This is not right to just let them do this. Your underwater and its just adding to that. After you get your perm. mod. please start sending letters to everyone. Don't forget the reason we are all in this situation. The banks greed.

Re: What in the H$ll is a "Fax Fee"

I just called chase. Yep, now they have a digital system in place, collecting all faxed docs. Everyone there is able to see our files now as soon as they are updloaded and it may take up to 5 days due to the amount of docs they get everyday. It sounds better this way.

Re: What in the H$ll is a "Fax Fee"

For what its worth, I asked the losers over at chase months ago if we can do all this via e-mail and they both told me nope, they don't do e-mails.

Funny the mod company I have does call but uses e-mail 75% of the time with chase on a weekly basis...
