Im Terrified and New to this...

Hi, Im new so please forgive any repetiveness or issues that may have already been addressed.

I have been trying to communicate with Chase for 11mos. At first their story was that if one was not behind in their payments--they didnt offer a loan mod. Then it was that if you were behind, they couldnt offer a loan mod until you paid up and made yourself current.

I had to file for Ch. 7 bankruptcy--and my attny was insistant that we not communicate with Chase again until everything was discharged. Now, of course, Chase wants to lift the "stay' and forclose.

Seriously, this situation is gonna "end" me. If someone like Stephen Baldwin cant get his loan mod--what chance have we?

The more I read--the sicker I get. I know that there are some sucess stories...but...the ratio of sucess to failure/purgatory/insanity looks kinda grim. I soooooo wish that I knew about this site earlier.

On the somewhat "lighter" side...here is my story.

I am a hairdresser in downtown Seattle. And a very large percentage of my clientel --wait for it--worked at WAMU (I am located close to the *former* WAMU tower...the center of that bank's activity.) The last time that I spoke to Chase--I carefully explained that since Chase purchased WAMU, a large portion of my clientel had been let go--By Chase--and of course, in general, unemployed,displaced workers usually dont spend money to have their hair done in an upscale downtown salon--and it would take me a year or two to recoup the loss...

At first, I didnt think that the Chase rep quite understood...and then...when she did...she started giggling nervously and then the call was dropped...ya think that she got the *irony*??

Thanks to all of you who are in this fight with me for sharing your insight...and thanks for letting me vent a little...

My advice would be to start reading through these threads. Thats how I learned and then I chimed in ! Dont let the banks get the best of you! Times are tough and you are not alone, TRUST ME! Good Luck

Scarlet - I remember being petrified, too. Definitely read the threads. Some may make you angry, some sad, but most will show you that you aren't alone. And - I am sorry to say - there is a good chance you, I and most of us here will lose our homes. Not for lack of trying, that's for sure. So there comes a time when you give over that fear and become resolved to know you will be ok no matter what. Doesn't mean you don't stop trying, but there is some relief in not being so afraid any more. We are good, intelligent, well-meaning people who don't deserve this. We are with you.

I started this 1/4/09 and have been denied twice - the last time was because my hardship was not a "permanent situation." They are running out of bogus reasons. That one really is a laugh. I bought a lottery ticket the night I got that letter - but didn't win (thought maybe Chase had a crystal ball). Take care.

Its kinda strange, I go though ups and downs, not weekly or even daily, but hourly. I never know what to think. I will get an e-mail or phone call from my mod rep and I will feel good for a few minutes. Then reality sets in and I know that chase is just lying to her then she just relays the lie to me.

Its and never ending circle of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing at chase...

You've explained it well. It's a roller coaster ride. I've been feeling ok the past few days, but today it's hit me again that we are going to have to come up with thousands upon thousands of dollars to keep our home.

How did you get a mod rep? We don't have anyone. Well, we have "S.S" from the executive team....and she is awful. Never has returned a call in over a month. So basically we have no one.

Thanks for the kind words of support...I really needed to hear some today. I kinda feel like going thru this is similar to the "Kubler-Ross" model...ie first denial, then barganing, anger..etc...coupled with bank management which is sorta on par with everyone's High School Prom Comittee. ie. only for the "cool kids" using whimsical versus rational decision making.

I disagree with all of you. I've had chase modify my loan 3 times in the past 2 years to help me during some really difficult times. They are helping me now too. they are dealing with millions of people and are only setup for handling half that. I've never had anything but people on the phone willing to help me, work with me and figure out a way to save my home. Sometimes you have to communicate properly and explain what you are trying to do , some here I dont think are doing that. they arent in the business of losing money on homes. Call Chase's homeownership help# ,talk to someone there, they will help you or see if they have a counseling center near you.

frankly, you can disagree with us all you want, but you are really one of the very few...I think I've read like 3 people who got a loan mod from Chase.

The majority of us are getting the run around. Personally, I think we should form a homeowners group...and then all default at the same time.....oh wait..THAT IS ALREADY HAPPENING!!!

Chase sucks. If you are a tad bit interested, take a look at where all that money....OUR money went from the US gov. The east coast banks made out like crazy....no so much for the west coast banks.

After the last fleecing of the great depression, the US gov finally raised the taxes on the upper elite. JP Morgan was so pissed he wanted to overthrow the government. JP Morgan/Chase....wonderful company...not.

Save your money don't throw it away on trial mods. It won't become a perm mod. Chase is very disorganized and don't know what they're doing. I was denied 2 weeks ago and my negotiator wasn't even aware of it. I just spoke to her a couple of days ago and she's checking on my status with the underwriter. She said that I would not be receiving anything in the mail regarding an approval or denial because she would be informed by the underwriter and then will in turn notify me.

The denial letter was dated 2 weeks ago and I just received it today. I am extremely disappointed and tired. I've been wanting to cry but I have no tears. I am so very exhausted with all of this. Well, it's finally over...better to find out now then later. At least I have a couple of months to move before I'm kicked out. I've been reading of people being denied and I prayed that my outcome would be more promising...wishful thinking...
