Need some advice

O.K. I truly need some advice from those that understand the loan mod process and headache !

In February I was offered a trial loan mod. First they threw me into a one month forebearance and than changed their minds and sent out a FULL HAMP packet in April with trial payments to be made in May, June, July. I sent in all of the documents 5/22 and made all my payments on the first of every trial month. I called every week, they had everything than last week I got a call from a Sonya at Chase when I called back she informed me that I had been mailed out a Homeowners Assistance Package and when I got this back she would get it to my negogiator. I have been assigned a nego for months but have never spoken to him. When I got the package this is what alarmed me- it was just what is on the chase website for initial Help for Homeowners requests there is nothing referencing the HAMp trial period, my payments etc. Nothing at all that indicates it is an update of HAMP. I have not gotten a statement from Chase in 5 months, when I make calls in now I get the collection standard you are 7,0000 blah blah blah can you bring your account current? I than inform them of my HAMP and they go oh yeah....no mention of anything about a perm mod.

1) Do I resend all of the info on this blank packet?

2) I made a 5th trial payment in August I am seriously thinking about not making anymore. Thoughts?? I got a letter that said I might need to make an interim (which I feel I have now). Without a statement I have no assurance where my $$ is even being applied

3) When I read the HAMP guidelines I am not convinced that perm mods are even part of the picture does anyone agree?

I don't know .... I just need some feedback

Yes they are supposed to review your case one more time after the trial period to make sure your financial situation is the same. I dont know why chase is continuing to give people the run around even after the trial period is complete. Call in and request to speak with a supervisor/manager and explain to them your case. Write down everyones name you speak with time, date, etc. The homeowners assistance package is to get the process started and you should be pretty darn close to complete...

Re: Need some advice

Shuladore,

I received this same package last week. It states thank you for your continued interest in wamu's loss mitigation program. a review of the documents indicates that supplemental information is needed. To avoid delay fax or mail them within 10 days from the date of this letter. Page 2 says.

1. please update package as soon as possible.
2. These updates are for the modification.

Upon receipt we will continue evaluating your request for assistance.

There are others here that had to re-submit info as well. For me, I completed this new package and faxed and sent it overnight mail signature required. I wanted to make sure they received it in time. That way they can't say I didn't comply with there request or borrower unresponsive.

Re: Need some advice

Hi Shuladore,

The packet they sent me was exactly what is downloadable from chase/wamu website. The only differrence is the letter I got with it. Not much of a letter kind of scary actually. It did not mention trial payments or the HAMP program either. Just needed updated/supplemental info. But, at least I know they're doing something. I agree with what Evan says and believe that they require updated info. I first applied in Jan. Had to re-submit in March. When they offered the trial plan in May I had to update the packet again due to the fact it was more than 30 days old and send back with first payment. Now again (more than 30 days old). I'll just keep sending what they need. Like Cliffdweller said don't give them any excuses.
