Anyone w. Naca getting "counselor not available"?

Hey all,

For any of you that happen to be with Naca are you getting the same message when you call in??

Long story short they just submitted my file to the lender last week. So I wanted to call and see what sort of time frame I needed to check back. Last week the girl said to call monday. When I did I got the automated message that my file had been submitted & that a counselor is not available.

I thought it might be an error, so I called again today and got the same thing.

Does anyone have any ideas on the time frame to check back w/ NACA once the file has been submitted??

Hi Jillian118,

I'm not exactly sure but it seems many times NACA will tell you to call back in two weeks for an update on your case since they have a lot of loans that they are trying to work out..

I'm working with naca to get my loan restructured through wells fargo. I went to their site and saw the 'letter submitted to servicer' and the 'submitted budget'. I also tried calling, but just heard a recording. So I called the Oakland office and was told that they are overwhelmed right now due to amount of people that are seeking help. I went to the wells fargo site to see what step we were on, and are currenty on step 2. We also got a letter from wells fargo stating that naca had contacted them . It's a long process!!!!! I, too, am getting no response from NACA. I've called and got their message not to stay on hold, left messages, and sent 5 e-mails for an update. I've signed up for one of their forums - but they submitted to my servicer on April 24th so maybe I don't have to start all over again? They are unfortunately so different than they were in April, when you were on hold alot but at least you finally got a person.

I just need them to call me back, send me an e-mail.... I don't get it.

I used to get through just fine before my file was submitted. I read somewhere that once it was submitted you were to pretty much leave them alone for 30 days, and that if you hadn't heard anything after 30 days to give them a call. It was on a blog somewhere.

I set up a phone appt. with NACA for 7 p.m. my time tonight two weeks ago, to try to find out what's up. It's 7:45, and no call from NACA. I tried to look at my file online to see if they made any changes, but can't access that part of their website. I'm going to get up at 5 a.m tomorrow and try then. This is insane. Perhaps they took too many cases - I don't know - and now they are taking new ones at the tours - how about those of us who worked with them months ago and are getting NO INFO??

Well I tried to log on to the web site today and it does not appear to be working! Gahhh!!! I'm sure nothing has changed for me, but it is part of my morning ritual!

Hi all. I am in CA. I woke up at 5 a.m. and called the NACA number. Was on hold for 45 minutes, but finally got through to a really nice woman. No word from my lender (chase) for the past 2 months other than they were reviewing my file. She said she would e-mail chase for an update. I asked if I don't have a response by then if I should go to the NACA tour in San Francisco at the end of Sept (it's a 6 hr. drive for me). She said that I should - just bring my NACA id number and my most recent pay stubs. So that's a plan if I don't hear from anyone by then.....

Oh by the way - when I was calling at 5 a.m., my first three calls were unsuccessful - just wanted me to leave a message. I just kept redialing and finally got that wonderful little tune that let's you know you're in the queue.

Thanks for the NACA info caldwell. We are waiting for our file to be "submitted to servicer". I also check every morning for our status and I have called and e-mailed once since my phone interview (end of June) and have had no response. I thought about signing up for the tour when it stops in LA (we are in so.OC) but have been worried if I sign up online are they then going to see that and not submit our file to Chase because they will assume we are going to the event. Also, what if you go wait in line and do not get in do you just go back each day hoping to get in the door? I tried to call NACA with these questions but of course I get no one. I would like to know a little more of the event procedure. Anyone know I would appreciate!

I have signed up for the tour as well. Its a little frustrating for me to see that folks in one day got all of their mods in place in one day and I have been waiting and waiting...

I think it makes a difference if your servicer or investor is there, so I am curious to see if Chase will have representatives at the LA one I am going to attend. If Chase isnt going to be there, im not sure if it will be worth it.

that's a good point. Anyone know how we can find out if Chase will be at the tour we are planning to go to?

My file was submitted to AHMSI on July 13th by Naca. This is my third servicer since being with Naca July 2007. So everyone hang in there. I did get a response to my email that I have sent each day till I got an answer. Yesterday they told me to be patient they are working relentlessly with the servicers, some have been difficult and are starting to come around. It has been a long long road but I am in it till the end. Keep fighting everyone don't give up.

Mine was finally submitted july 30 after quite a few phone calls, so it looks like we are close to the same time line! I hope it all works out...i'll be keeping an eye on your progress! LOL!!
