Why is Chase calling me?!

We are current on our mortgage but have received two calls from someone at Chase asking if I was interested in the MHA plan. I have a ten year ARM interest only mortgage and my monthly payment is well over 31% of my income. Thing are definately tight. I would love some relief but after reading about the terms of the plan I'm a little unsure. We need major renovations on our home and will eventually need a equity line of credit to do these repairs and I'm not sure if we could get one. It seems odd that someone from Chase is calling me. He did send an email to me with a Chase address so I don't think it's a scam. Should I look into it? Any info would be great!

Re: Why is Chase calling me?!

It does seem odd that they would call you when you are current. But heck the way this bank operates I would put nothing past them at this time.

Just to make sure, I would for sure call them back, with your paperwork in hand or even your back statement to make sure they are showing you are current.

I can throw this bank farther than I can trust them...

Be VERY wary...

I just de-constrcucted the legal terminology of the forbearance agreement they've been sending out for many months.

You waive MANY of your rights by signing these agreements.

Please see a new thread here for some more research/info.
