have now made 4 payments only to find out i am not in the making homes affordable program at all...i am in the CHASE MODIFICATION...AND THEY NEED MY PAPER WORK AGAIN.. just keep making trial payment...and never recd any paperwork to sign...

Has anyone checked their Chase accounts online payment history? Mine is bizarre. It shows my "trial payments" as unapplied, and that makes sense. I have made 4 payments now total. What is confusing is there are now 2 full mortgage payments that Chase may have made using those funds. I am not sure if this is what they need to do for escrow or what, but it is difficult to figure out. Just curious if anyone else has checked this. I like the online site since I can see exactly when my Western Union payments have arrived.

Smit - yes, mine is the same, all payments under the trial mod applied to "Suspense" account. Appropriate, since they've kept me in suspense for six months now regarding the possibility of a permanent modification...

What a nightmare! Began contacting Chase in November of last year about a modification after unsuccessfully trying to sell our house due to a drop in income. We were paying our 7.25% mortgage of $2100 a month but it was killing us.
Finally in June they said we did qualify for a modification but we had to go thru their 3 month trial period or 'special forebearance' period. The letter that came was sprinkled with terms like 'you are in default' I marked it up to make sense, showed it to my attorney and sent it off. The reduced payment (aprox $1760) has allowed us to pay by the first week of the month instead of the 3rd week, taking a financial load off, but's hardly been worth the stress due to the constant harassment by Chase Bank. Because our payments are held in suspension and not applied to our mortgage, we have undergone a barage of nasty phone calls and letters from them saying we are in default and we need to pay up, plus late fees! I have a number to the Excecutive Resolution Dept and periodically I get thru to them and they tell me all this is 'automatic' and they say they'll take my name off the calling list. I still get the calls.
Two weeks ago we received a letter from Chase Bank saying we did not qualify for the Making Homes Affordable, their reason: too much equity. (mortgage 1=$212K, mortgage 2=$85K, tax assesss=$298K, purchase price=$470K). When I finally got ahold of someone at the Exec Resolution Depart, they didn't know what the letter was about, said not to worry, resend in all my banking and income information and things were still under review. They said to continue paying the lesser amount and that they would 'look into' why I'd received that letter.
Last week I got two harrassment calls from the collections dept of Chase. I called the Exec Reso office again, pleading with them to please make it stop and when did they think my permament modification would take affect and did I qualify or not? The answers nearly put me over deep end-there is no guarantee that we qualify and, it could be up to 180 days until we know anything.
So, this is how Chase is going to steal my house? They force me into default with the forbearance thing and I'm supposed to put up with their harassment for ANOTHER 6 months? What then? If they suddenly decide we don't qualify, how will I pay them the money back? Foreclosure? We've always paid on time and what they told us to pay. What kind of sham is this?
I do not trust them and no way will my stomach hold out thru this for another 180 days so now will try to go to another bank to refinance at a lesser rate. But will my credit now be shot because of this special forebearance? Is this a ploy for Chase to steal a house from a struggling homeowner?
I need help here!
