I entered into a contract with CPA & Legal Network on Saturday but had such anxiety over it (whether it was a scam or not) that I canceled it yesterday. Everything seems to be on the up and up, though; they have answered all my calls, questions, etc. My main cause for the anxiety was because of how quickly I jumped in rather than looking at it from all angles and "sleeping on it" first. My husband and I just don't feel like we can do this on our own and would just as soon pay someone than go through what I was reading a lot people have been going through with NACA(?). Anyway, since the company (CPA&LN) are in California, I just wondered if you had heard of them. Thanks for any info. |

I am in New Jersey and I contacted this RE Law Firm out of California (Hayes and Associates) and after $995 dollars they refused to continue with me because I did not provide them the paperwork on time (another story all together). So $995 went down the drain as they claim they spend too much time with me trying to "convince" me!... Well any information given to me did not check out aside from their web-page and I was skeptical. That did not buy me any time though as they dropped me and I lost the money.... Good luck with your situation... |

Welcome! Everyone has high anxiety when they start to address their underwater, delinquent mortgage issues. So, take a deep breath and understand that only you can truly dig yourself out of this. I don't know about that co. but many people have gotten little to nothing by paying some alleged "mod" co. to do it for them. You at a high stress level currently but as you read here and learn more and more, you will feel less anxiety and more confident in your ability to advocate for yourself. Once you begin to take ACTION, I think you will begin to feel better. There is no magic pill to this process. The only way out is "through" it! These co.'s will tell you they get unbelievable results, but from what I've read, it's not true. The loan mod biz is very lucrative right now and feeds off of people like you, when at high stress levels. So, think hard about your ultimate decision. Personally, I would not pay anyone to modify for me. It is a hassle having to do this yourself, but many, many, very busy, stressed out people on this site have done it w/out paying anyone to do it for them. Once you get in the right frame of mind, realize this is a game with most lenders, get ready for battle, become persistent, and keep yourself healthy in the process (eat well, try to get rest, don't stress over every little thing a lender rep tells you, etc.), you CAN do it on your own. As for NACA, it's a great org and has gotten many, many people here better mods than they would have gotten on their own directly through the lender. I WOULD let them modify for me, if that were a goal of mine, right now. I'm going the short sale/foreclosure route (CA) as I'm $130K underwater now | |
